this has fixed it self overnight so im assuming it was a dropbox update that caused it and has since fixed it.

When it comes to the issue with the desktop app, could you clarify if you're getting any particular errors? If so, we'd appreciate a screenshot too.
Also, what is your computer's OS version, and the version and status of the Dropbox desktop app as shown in your system tray?
Did you install the app with admin privileges in the first place?
