The link to my private files is public

Hello dear dropboxers I have a problem to see if you can help me. I just checked that the documents I have in a folder, if I copy that link to another computer without being logged in with the company account, I can access them. Please, what have I done wrong? What can I do to correct it?

Hi darell_aiuken, if someone somehow has the exact shared link you copied, then yes, they'd be able to access the files and folders in that link.

If you're on a Dropbox Business team, then the team admin might be able to see that you created a shared link via the activity log, and if it was accessed by another device, location, or user.

Hey darell_aiuken, thanks for posting to the Dropbox Community.

This is actually how our shared link feature works.

When you use the "copy link" option, a link is created that helps you share your files even with people who don't have a Dropbox account (that's why you could access them from a computer that's not logged in to your account).

Can you let me know what you're trying to accomplish? Do you want to share your files with other people, or just transfer them to the other computer?

    Let me know!
