selective sync on iPad/iPhone not available

I like the selective sync option, I’ve made a folder on dropbox.com named “no-sync” and that is not visible on the PC’s.

But this option is not available on iPad and iPhone. It is possible to add this?

  • It isnt needed because Dropbox doesnt sync to a mobile device - you download the files as you need them on mobile devices so it doesnt use space unless you actively open it 🙂

I have the same question but for another reason. I like to work offline on my iPad without simcard, so I need selected files available on the iPad. Is there a solution for this?

    thanks to the wise

Hey Aha99177 - thanks for joining the discussion here.

The mobile app on your iPad isn't syncing locally your files like the desktop app does, it only provides you a way to preview the files you've stored in Dropbox and download them to your device or export them to whichever 3rd party app you'd like.

Have you tried offlining the files you want or downloading/exporting them to your device?

Thanks, as DB on iPad newbie I didn’t know this feature. Will give it a try. But it won’t allow me to have a folder structure on my iPad, will it?
        Thanks for your help

It's not about space, it about privacy, or the way many people want to use Dropbox.

You will need to give more detail about why you want it here.

I dont see how Privacy is an issue? The device has face ID / passcodes on etc. which lock it plus you can do the same to the iPad.

PLUS, remember Selective Sync does NOT stop a person seeing the files on a persons account. They can just open a web browser and navigate in and often will be logged straight in to a persons account. Any computer device with Dropbox on would do that and many mobiles the same.
