Could you try changing the bandwidth limit on the Dropbox desktop application to increase the download speed in the app for files to sync faster?

I changed the download limit to 50, and that seemed to work. Thank you.

is is exactly my problem. ALL MY FILES are GONE as soon as I opened DB on my new laptop. It acts like I do not have a subscription, that I did not pay to get extra storage. How do I cancel DB, I wonder, since I can't use it?

Hi BCLeominster, let's jump right into this!
Are your files missing from the Dropbox folder when you use the app, or online too?
If the content isn't visible in the events page or the deleted files page, then there's a few possibilities as to why this might be the case:
- The file is on another Dropbox account
- It was in a shared folder you don't have access to any more
- The file was deleted outside of the 30 day period
- The file was permanently deleted
Could you check the above possibilities to see if this could be the case? Also, have you tried these steps in order to cancel your plan?
Keep me updated with any progress!
