I'm missing files from my over-quota Dropbox account after moving to a new device.
My old (12 years) pc died with a failed graphics card, I had had old messages that my free dropbox was full by email. I do not remember any password being asked for at the time. I now have a new pc (windows11) and the hard drive data has been transferred, but only stuff from earlier than around 2011. I cannot find any of the full dropbox docs and nothing from 2022 on. Where is it and how do I find it?
Missing files and file contents after restoring my Dropbox to a new computer
I recently upgraded my iMac's to a new SSD because the old one was running with read/write errors frequently. After waiting for hours for the Time Machine to pour back my backed up data, I discovered that 4 month's of data (files and some contents in Excel files) gone missing! As if Dropbox has rolled back the contents of my account by 4 months. I tried going back to the Time Machine to see if I can access the missing files in Dropbox but to no avail. The Time Machine backup of Dropbox is just a shortcut! No Dropbox files were backed-up. Has anybody experienced what I am encountering?
I'm missing files/folders in new Windows desktop version - I can't access my Downloads folder
I believe I installed the new version yesterday 5/27/24, and I can not find my files. I think they may be in the old version. I do not understand computers very well, and bc I only have the basic plan I can't talk to anyone. When I try to go into the file, I get the following error msg...dropba\pc\downloads is unavail. Hello Community, I'm running Sonoma 14.4.1 on Mac Intel with Dropbox 200.3.7010 with a Dropbox Advanced account. I just noticed 3 heavy .key files that are several GB in size are missing. They are present on my dropbox.com account and I can see them on other local machines. I have 1.8TB available on my hard disk. I've disconnected, uninstalled Dropbox, deleted the entire Dropbox folder and all *dropbox files found in ~/Library and /Library. I reinstalled Dropbox and resynchronized the computer (>24h). According to the application, there are no synchronization errors and it is clearly noted that the files are up to date. There is no selective synchronization. However, these 3 files are still missing locally. Thank you for your help. It's all the more worrying because I don't know if other files are also missing. J.

I stoped Dropbox plan and after that, I can't found Desktop, Download, Documents on my MacBook. and So I re-joined dropbox plan and then I tried to back up, but it still can't because of permission issues. to do that, I need to open that folder on my MacBook, but I can't. Because they are missing. all missing Desktop, Download, Documents. So I can't give permission to try to backup from Dropbox, so I can't back up my Desktop, Download, Documents my Desktop, Downloads, and Documents folders are missing from my device after i stopped dropbox plan when I tried to open Desktop, Download, Documents on finder, it says The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “Desktop” can’t be found. so again my Desktop, Downloads, and Documents folders are missing from my device after i stopped dropbox plan and I can't back up from dropbox. Because of permission. For permission, it says to open the folder. When I tried to back up. But all those folders disappeared. I can’t screenshot from MacBook because I don’t know where it goes because missing desktop so I did screenshot op iPhone
How can I download files from a shared link that no longer works?
Hi, I have a dropbox link that was sent to me in 2015 by my wedding photographer and at the time I saved the photos from it on a HD but its corrupted now. I still have the original link but I get an error when I click on it (Attached error image). Is there a way to retrieve those pictures? ( The photographing company no longer exists so no option to ask them)
