How to make my documents look the same on all devices

I create and edit (mostly long, detailed lists) from my home PC that I refer to on my smartphone and other PC's when traveling. They are useable, but don't transfer to the other devices exa...
To finish answering your questions Walter (sorry), I just uploaded my files to the Dropbox website and they show up the same on there as they do on other devices (slightly different, but definitely readable). They are not as they appear on my PC. Maybe it is because these documents were created and edited on WordPad?

If you're not using the same application on all of your devices, then the documents will look different.
Well that answers my questions in a nutshell Rich, thanks. Guess I'm good as is then because I don't have a clue how to make sure all devices can download or use the same word app. Appreciate the help and education in Dropbox specifics everybody!
