How can I copy and paste email addreses into Dropbox in order to share folders and files?

There was some correspondence on this subject in 2019 but it doesn't seem to work now.

Hey trevor34smith, thanks for the screenshot!

You mentioned that when you right click, you can't paste the email there. Have you tried using the CTRL+V shortcut to paste the email there?

Hey trevor34smith, I'd be happy to help with this!

First thing you will want to do is write down the email address, then copy it. Usually you can either press Ctrl + C if you're on a Windows device, or Command-C if you're on a Mac

Then, you need to follow these steps in order to share the folder, or file. When you try to share, you'll click Command-V or Ctrl + V and that should do the trick. Have you tried it?

    Keep me posted!

      Hi Megan,

I use a Windows desktop computer.

I highlight the email address that I want to copy,

Right click and then select Copy.

I then go to dropbox, click on the "Share" next to the relevant folder - which brings up a mini-screen with a box where I Enter the email address.  (It offers me a couple of people who I have Dropboxed before, but these aren't the person I want to share with).  I right click to bring up a list of possibilities, and I select Paste.

      Nothing happens.

      Any more thoughts?

      Cheers,  Trevor

Hey there, Trevor! Thanks for letting me know more about this.

Have you tried a different browser by any chance? If not, can you give this one a go, and let me know if you notice the same kind of behavior there?
