Dropbox renamed folder, no longer syncing
So I'm managing a non-profit sky survey project and have used Dropbox to sync our data to a large secondary hard drive on a Dell workstation (windows 10 pro). This has worked flawlessly for the past 6.5 years. Suddenly yesterday morning, the computer booted windows with some message that Dropbox can no longer sync with the folder and renamed it "(old)" and supposedly rebuilt the folders elsewhere (to a drive too small to host all the files), and now no longer syncs my data to the original synced folder. We are talking 4.29 terrabytes of data. How can I restore dropbox's link to the folder? Right now, the windows tray icon lets me open the dropbox folders directly, but it is important that the **bleep** program automatically downloads the data each day. We use a large business account with 10 TB of storage.

Hi there MDWSkySurvey, sorry to hear about this.
Can you please let us know if this secondary hard drive is an external drive or an internal one?
Apart from that, can you take a look at the app's preferences, under the Sync tab, and let me know where your Dropbox folder is located at the moment?
What is the app's exact status as shown in your system tray by the way?
Keep me posted!

The secondary hard drive is an internal one.
Sometime on Saturday morning, Dropbox decided to rename the folders that our data is scripted to be saved, which threw our systems into disarray. I spent all day yesterday re-synching a new folder to the drive. It was a huge pain, and took about 8 hours to synch. everything is up to date now. Apparently, dropbox just the other day decided that no, folder names can't include parenthesis unless it's to designate an unused folder system...
