Can't upload to other user folder

Hi All -

Forgive me if this is a common problem / easily solvable.

I have a situation with two users, X and Y. User X is a Dropbox subscriber with 2TB of space. User Y has access to user X's Dropbox files.

User Y is attempting to upload files to User X's folder, but cannot because Dropbox says User Y's folder is out of space. User Y is told they have used 49/2 GB of possible space.

Is this expected behavior, or should User Y be able to upload to User X's directory without subscribing to Dropbox?

Thank you for your help and have a nice day.

  • Hi Augur

That is expected behaviour - shared folders use the quota up of everybody within the share.

If the person needs edit access they'll need to upgrade OR if they just need to send files to a person get the owner to send a requests link instead: www.dropbox.com/requests
