Will the other person see if I download their content

Hi! I would like to download content from someone else's dropbox, however, I do not want them to know that it is me (I will be signed out).

Even if I am signed out, will they see that someone downloaded it? And if so, will they be able to track down my location (country, etc).

    Could you clarify how you're going to download the content? Is this from a shared link on their account, or by some other method?

     

    Are they on a Dropbox Business team or a personal account?

     

    This will help me to assist further.

      HiJay! It’s from a shared link! And I’m not too sure what account they are on but they are a business so possibly Dropbox business?

        Hey meatmeatmeat_1, sorry to jump in here!

         

        If the creator of the link is the admin of a Dropbox Business team, they'll be able to see that someone has accessed/opened the link and that they downloaded files from the link.

         

        They can also see the location this was done from, yes (country, city).

        This is all in the case that the creator has a Business account; if they have a personal one, they cannot see this info.
