We can't open the PowerPoint file from Dropbox for teams
It’s not just .pptx files; other file types are also having issues. I’ve checked the admin console, and the user has permission for the specific Dropbox folder and also has a Dropbox license.

Hey DSTech - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
From what I gather, a member of your team is getting an error when trying to open some files on their device.
Could you clarify the OS of their device and walk us through the exact steps they take to do this?
Do they get the same error on the website?
Any additional information is more than welcome!

Hello Walter,
Thank you for taking the time to check on my issue. The users are using macOS 15 Sequoia. User 1 created a PowerPoint and saved it in a Dropbox folder named 'Team 1.' She then sent the Dropbox link via Outlook email to User 2, so she could check and edit the PowerPoint. When User 2 clicks the link, it opens the PowerPoint file on the Dropbox web interface. She then clicks 'Open in Desktop' to launch the file in the PowerPoint desktop app, and that’s when the error occurs.

Do they get the same results if they download the file to their computer and try to open it locally from there DSTech?

Yes, downloading resolves the error, but a different pop-up appears with an option to repair it. See below
It is also happening with other files (Excel). The user has permission, so I am not sure what I might be missing here. See below:
The main issue is a permissions problem preventing the user from editing Microsoft documents directly in desktop applications, specifically when collaborating on PowerPoint presentations. The user wants to avoid creating multiple desktop copies of the presentations. An error message indicates the need to provision the storage account in "Open/Add a Place" and verify adequate permissions. We are unsure how to obtain the necessary permissions to prevent these errors from recurring.Because she has the same permission with the other, I don't know why she is the only one experiencing this.
