Hello, I have created a new folder "Camera upload Karla" where I want my wifes iPhone to automatically upload photos to. This seems not to be so easy, as Dropbox on a phone will only upload to "Camera Upload" folder. Is this correct? How can I make her iPhone upload automatically to the new folder? Within my Dropbox folder, I have sub-folders with different Windows ACL permissions. Up until recently, whenever Dropbox synced a file it inherited its folder permissions perfectly. Now it no longer does. It overrides the folder permissions and sets all file permissions to something completely different - Full Control for admins and Read/Read & Execute for users. Is there any way to get back to the old days - when Dropbox respected the inheritance of ACL permissions to all files in each folder?12KViews1like105CommentsAll my videos turned into sized down jpegs when uploaded to Dropbox from mac's Photo app. Any ideas?
I just attempted to upload my 'favorites' folder i created in Photo by selecting all and using the 'copy' option in the drop down menu up top to a new folder in dropbox. It should have had enough room, I checked beforehand. Also, i assumed if it didn't have room it would just stop short the upload or only upload until the max was reached. instead it appears that all of my jpegs were renamed, as well as sized down and all the videos were turned into jpegs. has anyone experienced this? I was hoping to create a folder in dropbox for iphone images/videos that i could access without having to store them all on my phone. Mind you this was a large upload, 3GB and approx. 1000 files. maybe i have to do it in smaller doses?? I'm on Mac Sierra. all of the images/videos were renamed to variations of this:UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_66a7.jpgSolved9.7KViews0likes6CommentsIs there a way to see the upload errors for a large amount of files on the website?
I'm trying to upload a large number (over 5,000) of files. When the upload is finished, the status bar at the bottom of the screen says that there were 4 errors in the upload but when I click on the status bar to see which files didn't upload the browser freezes and I have to either refresh the page or close the tab to get anything to happen. When I do that, the status bar disappears and I can't figure out how to see which of the files didn't upload. I don't have time to go through and compare file by file on 5,000+ files to see which didn't upload - is there a way to go back and look at the status bar for a prior upload and see where the errors were? I've tried this upload three times and the same thing has happened every time.Solved7.8KViews0likes7CommentsCan I keep the creation/ modification dates on my photos when I upload to Dropbox?
I'm uploading photos from my memory card to Dropbox without transferring to my computer first. I have years of photo cards that I am uploading to be able to better organize. I can see the files on my card reader in my window folders with the correct dates for each photo , however when I copy these photos to drop box, all files become today's date vs the date the photo file was created/last modified. Is there any way to manage this? I'm wondering if drop box may have been a poor choice for what I'm trying to do. Appreciate any advice. Hey there! I'd like to save files (mostly PDFs) directly from Safari to my Dropbox, but it doesn't work on my iPad as well as on my iPhone. To do so, I take the following steps: 1. open the file in Safari 2. click on the 'sharing button' (the square with the arrow 😉 ) 3. choose 'save to dropbox' (if I choose directly the Dropbox icon it would only share the file - so that's not what I'm looking for) 4. choose the destination folder 5. it says 'saving' and then 'uploading' and I can see the check mark So far, so good. When I open my Dropbox, there is the just uploaded file named 'index.php', and I can't open it. Neither a second down- and upload nor a change of the document format (.php to .pdf) was helpful. Any idea or input is much appreciated. Thank you! Edit: both iOS and Dropbox are up to date7.1KViews0likes5CommentsMac photos on dropbox
I have both the "Camera Uploads" and "Photos Library.photoslibrary" on Dropbox. I want to take both of them off because I now have my photos on the Apple cloud. How can I take them both off and make sure I don't permantly delete any of my photos? Thank you, LSolved5.7KViews0likes4Comments
