Hello, I have created a new folder "Camera upload Karla" where I want my wifes iPhone to automatically upload photos to. This seems not to be so easy, as Dropbox on a phone will only upload to "Camera Upload" folder. Is this correct? How can I make her iPhone upload automatically to the new folder? Hi everyone, I am looking for a smart way to store and manage photos in dropbox. What I currently do is separating in "albums" the pictures I take with my phone (android - xiaomi 12 pro). And then every month or so I plug my usb cable "phone-to-laptop" and manually upload these "albums" from the phone to the dropbox website, in a folder that I've created where I've organized the pictures in subfolders by year, activity etc... This folder is only online. A quite vintage operation, I am aware of that. So I am here to ask some advice either to automatize this uploading process or improve it in other ways. I have seen that there is a "Photo" application in my dropbox but there is a bunch of images which looks like have just been thrown there without any order (looks like the order is "by last modified date") and is not what I want (or anybody, I guess). So, to wrap up, is there a way to upload the phone's photo albums/folders in dropbox while keeping the possibility to delete the photos from the phone and still have them in the cloud? Within my Dropbox folder, I have sub-folders with different Windows ACL permissions. Up until recently, whenever Dropbox synced a file it inherited its folder permissions perfectly. Now it no longer does. It overrides the folder permissions and sets all file permissions to something completely different - Full Control for admins and Read/Read & Execute for users. Is there any way to get back to the old days - when Dropbox respected the inheritance of ACL permissions to all files in each folder?12KViews1like105CommentsAuto-upload of files from SD card I link to my computer.
When I put my SD card into my computer, Dropbox automatically uploads the files onto the computer. How do I stop this from happening? I want to determine whether or not the files will be uploaded. In addition, when Dropbox uploads the photo files to the computer, it changes the name of the file from IMG_xxxx to the date and time the photo was taken. This is totally unacceptable in my opinion. 1. How do I prevent this from happening in the first place? 2. How do I change the file names back to what they were originally?? Thanks in advance for any assistance. I am ready to delete the program!Solved3.5KViews1like4CommentsCan I keep the creation/ modification dates on my photos when I upload to Dropbox?
I'm uploading photos from my memory card to Dropbox without transferring to my computer first. I have years of photo cards that I am uploading to be able to better organize. I can see the files on my card reader in my window folders with the correct dates for each photo , however when I copy these photos to drop box, all files become today's date vs the date the photo file was created/last modified. Is there any way to manage this? I'm wondering if drop box may have been a poor choice for what I'm trying to do. Appreciate any advice. Thanks!Solved7.7KViews1like9Comments
