Hi there, previously, one was able to right click in empty space on a folder and have the same commands show up that show when right clicking on a folder: These are the options that show when right clicking ON the folder. And as of a recent update, these are not available when right clicking in blank space: I dug around in the registry to see if it was possible to link the command, but it shows in Directory/shellex as normal, so I imagine this is something that has changed on Dropbox side. Is it possible to bring this back at all? Thanks, LukeSolved4.4KViews0likes25CommentsDropdown in shared tab is not allowing me to choose the first folder on the list
I access Dropbox via the web browser, however, when I am in my Shared Folders, there is a dropdown that is constantly there which means I cannot access the first one or two shared folders that I am in. If I use Dropbox as an application on my desktop I can only enter the shared folder I am currently apart of. As I do not have a lot of storage, I need to remove myself and add myself to different shared folders regularly. Do you know how I can remove this drop down? I have tried accessing this via Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Incognito on Chrome and it appears on all three. I have also cleared my browsing history.899Views0likes15CommentsiPhone app shows "Shared Link" alert for a file that has been deleted long ago
Hello Support, Every time I open your iPhone app, a pop-up appears informing that I have a shared link to a file that was deleted long time ago. The issue seems to be exactly the same as detailed here: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Apps-and-Installations/iPhone-app-shows-quot-Shared-Link-quot-alert-every-time-I-open/td-p/724914 Just like that user, I have removed the app and rebooted the iPhone but to no avail. Could you please post instructions here on how to rectify the issue? In my case, the app is running on iPhone 8 w/ iOS 16.7.8 Thank you.765Views0likes6CommentsI cannot access Shared files from the desktop app on my Mac
After updating my Mac, I can only see the Dropbox folder itself in my favorites. When I access the folders from online it defaults to all files and then I have to select the Shared tab to access the files I need. I previously could access them from favorites but after reinstalling Dropbox, I still cannot access Shared files for Dropbox on my desktop app on my Mac. I am currently running Sonoma 14 3.1 as well.382Views0likes1CommentNew context menu proposal
Our business software is web based, and using its file selection popup allows us to attribute documents to transactions by selecting them from either a UNC path or URL, where the files path get stored in the database, and users can view that document later when they retrieve that transaction. The "Dropbox -> Share" and "Dropbox -> Copy Dropbox Link" context menu options work, but in my opinion are overkill for the scenario where new links are unnecessary, and an existing option almost gives us an easier solution. What I'm proposing is a new "Dropbox -> Copy Preview Path" context menu option that simply copies the existing https://www.dropbox/preview/... path, without the actual navigation and preview part. Example: Selecting "Copy Preview Path" would copy the following to the clipboard: https://www.dropbox.com/preview/Sales/LOGOS/My%20File.pdf?role=work Alternatively, since this is not an actual preview, what gets copied to the clipboard could be the normal web navigation path, which we have tested and it works equally well. When I shared a URL like this one with team members, those with permission could view it and those that didn't couldn't: https://www.dropbox.com/work/Sales/LOGOS/My%20File.pdf Either way, no additional links required and access permissions are preserved as expected, and in our case, as desired. Thank you!341Views0likes1CommentDropbox folders look grayed out after transferring from Business to personal account
I've recently left my job and I am in the midst of transferring some of my creative work from my employers business dropbox to my personal dropbox. I read in the community that I should create a shared folder between the business acc and my personal acc, and then copy into the shared folders the items that I want to transfer into my personal. I spent this morning doing this, however I've recently noticed that all of the folders I've copied across aregreyed out on the web (both on chrome and safari). What does this mean? How do I know if they have synced correctly (or are currently still syncing) or whether they are greyed out because they've become corrupt / deleted? I want to ensure I have access to my art files before I am taken off of the business account. Please help !Solved3.7KViews0likes3CommentsMy dropbox is now a sub folder?
Hi, I recently accepted an invitation to a Dropbox folder from a friend and somehow my existing Dropbox and all its folders has become a sub-folder of the folder that my friend shared with me. This only seems to be the case on the desktop version. Does anyone have experience of this and can you advise on how I sort this out? Is it best to unistall Dropbox from my desktop and start again? Help would be much appreciated. thanksSolved1.5KViews0likes2CommentsDropbox Capture not working since I updated to MacOS Sonoma
Good morning, everyone. Since I updated from MacOS Ventura 13.6 to MacOS Sonoma 14, Dropbox Capture has stopped working. Specifically, the app allows me to record the video, and I can see it in the rendering queue on the app. However, when I try to open it via a Dropbox link, it doesn't display. It remains in a perpetual loading state. I suppose this issue is somehow linked to what has been afflicting Dropbox for MacOS Sonoma for the past ten days, where the indexing of new files is completely stuck. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I'm effectively stuck and can no longer send my clips to clients. This is having a really negative impact on my workflow and my relationship with my clients. Thank you.1.3KViews0likes3CommentsRecently added files and folders are not showing on other users computers.
Hi, I'm sharing dropbox with my work colleagues. Dropbox is in the network folder and is being shared on the work network. We're all on Windows 11. Everything has been working fine until recently when it seems we are not seeing each other's updates on files and folders since the beginning of July. Below is some screenshots of what we're seeing: In the 2022 Folder I've created a 2023 folder on my computer: In the same 2022 folder on colleague's computer is not showing the 2023 folder: Similarly, on my colleague's computer you can see a folder called July: In the same folder on my computer, the July folder is not showing: Lastly, a file I worked on on 11 July 2023 which you can see in the date modified column on my computer: The same file on my collegue's computer shows as the 2019 version: What could the problem be? Please help.1.9KViews0likes9Comments
