Hi, I've been trying to set up a password to secure my Dropbox folder, but I can't get it to work. I followed all the instructions in the guidance, but it didn't work. Please let me know what might be the problem. I've done the step below: Login in your Dropbox account. Click theShareoption beside the name of the file or folder that you wish to share. In the pop-up window, clickLink settings. save the password. Thank you.188Views0likes1CommentHow can I make sure only a specific user can access my shared link?
Is there a way to send a share link to a user who does not have a Dropbox account, but restrict the viewing to only that person? In other words, I don't want to send the link with "Anyone with Link" setting, because I don't want them to forward the link to others. I tried the "Only People Invited" option, and I added their email to the Shared List, but it keeps asking for them to create a Dropbox account when they try and view the file. I must be doing something wrong, just not sure what. Any help would be apprecitated.287Views0likes2CommentsSimple report of all Transfers
Our data is our capital. That’s why I deactivated all Link-Sharings to external persons. But sometimes we have to give access to larger files or folders. Therefore Dropbox Transfer is perfect. BUT I would like to have a simple list of all Transfers and a daily or weekly email report who transferred which data to which person or business partner. Thanks 🙂 Ruben459Views0likes3CommentsCan I choose what folders can be accessed from different computers?
My question is very basic. I have 2 personal computers and one from my company. I have Dropbox on all 3, all sync. I don't want my personal folders to appear on my company computer, as there is a small possibility that remote access to that computer by third parties. What I do want, is to be able to access my work folders on my personal computers Is it possible to have everything synced and at the same time prohibit some folders from connecting to one of the computers? Excuse my ignorance, I lack the technical language to better formulate my question. Don't know if I've made myself clear.312Views0likes1CommentDeleted folder and files still accessible via shared link
I shared a folder of files a few days ago. Today I deleted the folder and the underlying files. However, the link still works, the files still show up in the download page, and files are still able to be downloaded. To be clear, the folder and files do not exist locally on disk nor on the original dropbox.com location. I physically deleted them. So they should not be accessible via the shared linked, yet they are. Tried multiple browsers, they're still visible and downloadable.1.5KViews1like8CommentsTwo pro accounts, deleting one - how will this affect the shared files?
Hello! I've been adding photos to my former's employer's Pro account from a Pro account I started for work. I recently left the job and do not want to pay for two accounts anymore (I have one for personal use). Will the photos that I've added to my former employer's account folders be deleted if I delete my work Dropbox account? When you "share a folder" all users of that folder can see all of the other users email addresses. This is privacy issue. If I give 500 people the ability to "view" but not "edit" the folder, I don't want all these people to see the other people's email addresses. There is no reason for them to see them. There is no collaboration in the folder. I am just sharing it. So, to uphold someone's privacy the 500 other people that they don't know should not have the ability see other people's email addresses. There is no Dropbox plan, no option to hide email addresses among those that can only "view" the folder. This is a major privacy issue. Ideally, a simple switch should be put on the owner's dashboard (the person that is sharing the folder) to hide all email addresses so each person in the folder doesn't have the ability to see all the other peoples email addresses. Doesn't seem logical that this "switch" isn't already a feature due to privacy issues.1.9KViews1like6Comments
