How to manage multiple Dropbox accounts on the same computer
I am having no end of trouble trying to figure out the best way to coordinate between different email addresses.I have clients who add me to their dropbox using my current work email, that is not connecting to my personal login. I know of the "link" option, but when I go to it in my settings I get a 404 error. Then, I have a third dropbox connected with my former work--the employer removed all sensitive files but I still need to have access to items that other people shared with me via that email address, and I am authorized to access the account. I use dropbox for everything and had migrated my desktop to the cloud, but now when I changed jobs everything is broken. Is there any way to not have to be constantly logging in and out of multiple accounts--especially when I have it set to auto-sync my desktop with all current-working files, it gets very confused when I have to switch accounts.Help!Solved26KViews0likes20CommentsMultiple Computer Accounts but Single Dropbox account
I want to have multiple accounts on my PC to allow for different i-Tunes libraries but allow dropbox to sync the same location on the drive. Is this possible? Ex: c:\dropbox is synced via the same dropbox account for both windows accounts. This came up as an issue because it seems like the dropbox app installs to the user profile instead of globally to the machine. I don't want to corrupt my files by syncing from the same machine twice. Is there any issue with what I'm suggesting? User1 and User2's windows profiles both point to c:\dropbox and use the same user@dropbox to sync them?Solved21KViews0likes8Comments
New named Dropbox structure
I am a user of DropBox Business, on Windows 10. Last week, I suddenly realized that the shortcuts to some of my Dropbox folders were broken. A quick look learned me that the structure had changed. While I used to access my folder through: C:/User/{username}/Dropbox (COMPANY NAME)/, I can now find them at: C:/User/{username}/{COMPANY NAME} Dropbox/MyFirstName LASTNAME/ Now, both structures seem to remain while the first one is now a hidden shortcut (although I can't seem to see where it links to). So that I don't really know where my files actually are. Is this change documented anywhere? Thanks After a couple of days, I realized this happened to all of this Dropbox Business users across the company, Mac and Windows, and that it messes up with backup strategies. Please allow pairing of more than two accounts. As a contractor, I am a member of a company's business account, a team member of another company, and have my personal account. change googlemail.com to gmail.com -> lost my account
Hello, everyone, Google has recommended that I shorten my email address from googlemail.com to gmail.com without any changes. For all other sites where I have logged in with my gmail it works fine. But dropbox has created a new account for me and I don't have access to my client's data anymore. When I try to login with googlemail.com, I am redirected to the new account with gmail.com. Can't access my old email, need to cancel subscription
Hi there, I have 2 dropbox accounts, currently signed into one of them. I am unable to sign into my other dropbox account as the email address is from a workplace I am no longer at, I no longer have access to it. I have forgotten the password to the account and can't reset it because I don't have access to the email. I need to cancel the premium Dropbox subscription on the account and delete the account. Hello, I have used dropbox for several years (my dropbox mail address was:[Removed as per Community Guidelines]). The problem is that I cannot access my account since 2021. Sep. 2. Resetting password did not work. (No e-mail was arrived from dropbox.) Today, I tried to register dropbox account with the same mail address. Surprisingly, an account with the same mail address was created.Maybe my original account with my data file was deleted. I want to restore my data and original account.
