I have a new install on a Mac (Sequoia 15.1). I opted to keep all my folders offline on the install. However in the Mac finder no folders are visible, only individual folders. On the webapp they are all there. I want selective sync and decide after the install what I want kept locally.8Views0likes1CommentThumbnails not showing for online-only
As a new user to Dropbox, I've uploaded all photos from my Mac (Sonoma 14.4) using Dropbox 194.4.6267 and set the files to online-only. None of the thumbnails show on my Mac and this is a non-starter for me in using Dropbox. I've reindexed via Spotlight all of my files on my mac, and I've toggled online and offline only settings and still no thumbnails are showing. Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated before moving to Google One.Solved632Views1like5CommentsCamera Upload thumbnail not showing on mac
I use Smart Sync I'm on a Macbook Air Ventura13.5.2 I know SmartSync doesn't download the files to your laptop but I'm pretty sureI used to get low-res thumbnails of the images in my Camera Upload folder Since updating to the newest OS that seems to not work anymore and I just see the generic icons now. If I "make it available offline" then it downloads the image and the thumbnail works but I'd love to have a low-res thumbnail so I can tell if I should download it or not.Solved6.7KViews2likes42CommentsDropbox folders icons keep changing on Mac.
I'm on a macbook pro and on Sonoma 14.6.1 I have a number of folders containing photos for my clients to download. Normally, i get the little green check mark box showing it's all done. But for the past few days, i see that the folders are now showing the little 'download cloud' icon. If i click on it, i get the little circle and it downloads again and the cloud goes away. But the next day it's back. What is happening? It's not because their is no more room. Any feedback appreciated.657Views0likes4CommentsSlow download speed on Mac Dropbox app.
Hi everyone! I was using Dropbox on my browser and the download speed was slow. I switched to the Mac desktop app, and it improved but it's still way slower than it should be. I have a wired internet connection from my router directly to my mac with tested 800 mb/s download speed, yet a 3GB file from Dropbox takes like 2/3 minutes to sync / download. Is there some sort of download limit speed from Dropbox itself? All my settings are good and I have the latest updates and software. Please if you have any suggestions, I edit video and my client sends me big 250GB files and it takes hours to download when it should take minutes. Thanks!354Views0likes4CommentsI put all files available offline, but Dropbox doesn't download them.
Hi! I recently bought a new Macbook and wanted to sync my files to my new computer. Unfortunately, I am unable to download all the files. They are mostly kept in the cloud. I changed the preferences to offline in the Dropbox settings, but this did nothing. What to do? I need to have all my files available offline, because the cloud version prevents me from searching files and file contents via Spotlight and browsing through pictures is a drag. I have the latest Dropbox, 2TB subscription, Macbook M3 Pro, all the latest updates.640Views0likes8CommentsCan't download a single file from my Mac.
Ive been using dropbox forever Suddenly, I can't download a single file from my entire dropbox I reinstalled the app and that did nothing - says none of my files are linked to dropbox even though they are sitting inside dropbox on my mac What else do I need to do? Im betting the system extension is corrupt but none of the doc Ive foun talks about it THANKS MUCH742Views0likes15CommentsNew changes in the online-only files, after the MacOS update.
Are there any plans to patch the Mac desktop issues that have been prevalent since Ventura or have Dropbox effectively stopped supporting Mac? It's a significantly worse product than it was two years ago – the inability to prevent it from automatically making files online only is particularly infuriating, as is the inability to cancel the download of online files and folders. I deal with very large files and folders and live in an area where internet speeds aren't fantastic so these two issues in particular are having a detrimental effect on my workflow to the extent where I'm now looking for viable alternatives. I don't want to migrate because of the hassle but it's looking like the lesser of two evils.249Views0likes3CommentsDrag and drop URLs of files to other MacOS apps
Hi, we want do use dropbox as an alternative for our current DAM and so we must be able to drag and drop image files from dropbox into Affinity Designer, Publisher or Photo. This way the files stay connected with their web-source, if a certain key (ctrl) is hit in Affinity while dragging the images from Safari. It works great with websites and their images (i.e. resulting in a path like https://static.agravity.io/af6827b1d-080b-4f76-9b1f-5ee91cf12514/p3a350b8a-076f-4b1b-bdc2-9f2035c54c74/1130x810.webp), but not from Dropbox. Here the result comes as an error like i.e. "https://previews.dropbox.com/p/thumb/ACUiEmcmtP9lV0Lkv0cbOcemd_8sBc9L_V4Fy8uCAYb66ACWnhyPezUrxGbhHf7SeY4P8L7bJPrO3uDPFy5tOvLO5fdgZ2AcWRsJE-LnZsTDE2gi31md0SF5yDiPeqKgwQ0FGfnnXXM-YzWxbTntsgF23d5REr_nP0O-0PIY27WABzIU4sTdGoaypuchIKQkBjkPAq5LPdgqk7SzXEWsM0GSzMAwYqxML1nKD5xBCxDWR4WUrMmN64KfN7VWr1-a5m8_usmTuBhJQW14xhC2tQP7RUMedPrh8hVV70lGf7IsobhChycCu6q2pz1iw5VmS4KF-YNPUCKOqyng4I1rMNnf1Bs-2mZi6lhbI8j3lJ8CXdSQaLPWxs9xrVAGgViJ_Kw/p.jpeg". This is strange. How can we drag and drop assets with actual URLs from Dropbox to other MacOS apps to keep them linked?554Views0likes7Comments
