I have Dropbox client installed on my Fedora machine, and by default it uses the folder ~/Dropbox for sync so it's located in the /home directory. I want to move the Dropbox folder to ~/Documents/ directory, and if I do it manually then after restarting the daemon it shows an error and it seems like the default destination can't be changed. Man pages did not show any solutions either. Can anyone advise, please?903Views0likes4CommentsThe web page does not open when one click on the icon.

Hi, I am using Joplin for notes, and dropbox to save my notes. I get a notification on my Linux machine every time a temp file is added and removed. Which is a lot. I don't want to disable notification for all the activity in Dropbox, but want to disable it for one folder. Is that possible?Solved1.5KViews0likes3Comments[Solved] Cannot login with university Single Sign On (SSO) link code in Ubuntu 20.04
What I am trying to do: - install dropbox desktop app inside a Ubuntu 20.04 virtual machine - sign in with my university account (umich provides dropbox SSO) - set up a folder for selective syncing - unlink my account since this VM will be distributed to students for them to link their own accounts to (which will also be through umich SSO) The problem: - opening the dropbox app via system tray or command line redirects to firefox browser (it opens a new non-incognito window, so this is not exactly the same issue asjewett_aij_scr's issue) - I login with SSO in the browser and are offered a code to "go back to the Dropbox installer and enter the following link code" - there is no where to use the link code while the dropbox GUI shows its status as "Starting..." while Sign in is also available I installed the dropbox 64bit desktop client for Ubuntu using the 2020.03.04 version of the .deb from dropbox's main install page I have read the discussions in https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Apps-and-Installations/What-am-I-supposed-to-do-with-the-copied-link-code-Linux/td-p/490630 https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Apps-and-Installations/Entering-Link-Code-After-Install-Ubuntu-18-04/m-p/321876#M21642 but they have not resolved my problemSolved3.4KViews0likes3CommentsDropbox icon pull down button "Launch Dropbox Website" does not function
I have installed Dropbox an Ubuntu 22.04 and for the most part it functions as needed. However, if I click on the Dropbox icon in the icon bar, Dropbox displays a pull down that included the option titled "Launch Dropbox Website" and when I select this option it does open a browser window but fails to open a valid web site. I have searched for a way to change the "Launch Dropbox Website" button to a valid parameter but I have had no luck in finding a way to modify it. Have you got any suggestion on how to fix this function/functionality of the Dropbox icon? I am assuming that it the button worked correctly I would be brought directly to a Dropbox website in which I was already logged in. Preventing the extra steps of having to connect to the Dropbox web site and log in. At the very least it should be able to bring up the Dropbox web site in a browser all primed for me to log in. But it doesn't even do that. It opens a web site and tells me it couldn't access the intended destination.Solved801Views0likes2CommentsSwitching between two linked accounts on linux seems to be missing ???
I am trying to set up on linux access to my linked business and personal account. But the instructions for doing so in the app do not match what the app provides. Here is a screen shot of the dropbox app when running on linux (left) and when running on windows (right): The linux version does not seems to know about my linked app. Is this a bug in the linux app or am I missing something? If a bug, how does one report a bug to dropbox?Solved1.7KViews2likes6Comments
