Congratulations Dropbox! You've just put the nail in the coffin of all W7 users who prefer not to be spied on and constantly used for data scraping! Well done. If the constant scaremonger nagging about running out of space, the constant begging to upgrade, the incessant app updating demands, the constant USB device interrogation upon connection wasn't enough of an incentive to finally ditch Dropbox for good, then the cutting off of users of a still perfectly good and functional, non-spyware infested OS will be the last straw. Thank you Dropbox for giving me the incentive to go to your competitors instead and get out of your ever more bloated crapware ecosystem. Sometimes, people need a little push to get away from what's comfortable and familiar, even though they suspect just how bad that relationship is for them. I thank you Dropbox for giving me this little push. Goodbye.
How to back up Dropbox into an external server?
I am looking for an App that will let me backup Dropbox for Business into external server. I found that I can use Synology Drive Client to do back up into my NAS server. But the process is very slow. We do have Back Up through DropBox. But I am looking for additional option to external media. In my case a NAS server. Any suggestions?
How can I move the Dropbox folder on Ubuntu 24.10 without a GUI?
In my new Ubuntu 24.10 with Dropbox installed from a .deb file downloaded from the official site, I can't manage its configuration. The GUI does not work here. I HAVE TO change the location of the ~Dropbox. It does not have any command to perform this change. Where is the configuration file with parameters about Dropbox's behavior? Any help will be so much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Why can't I backup up any folder with Dropbox Backup?
We recently upgraded to Dropbox business and I am trying to give guidance to our team members for using dropbox backup to backup key folders from their computers. I cannot seem to figure this out. When I go thru the desktop app / preferences / backup the only folders that are available are shown here. How do I get an option to select any folder on my C drive? Thanks
Using Dropbox on an external drive with Mac OS File Provider?
Hi, I am a long time paying customer of Dropbox. I'm very happy with the service. The major reason I have chosen Dropbox over other cloud storage services is the ability for me to sync to an external drive. In my work I often have large folders added to my Dropbox and if it were to sync to my internal hard drive it would quickly become overloaded. When I learned that in latest version of Dropbox working with Mac File Provider will no longer allow users to sync to an external drive I was very concerned. Currently my system is still working, but I have found that is impossible to prevent Dropbox from auto-updating. I am trying to get ahead of this issue. Is it just a matter of time before my Dropbox updates, moves to my local drives and renders the service unusable for me? How can you launch without such a fundamental feature? When can we expect the feature to be restored? Thank you
