How do I delete files from Dropbox without deleting them from my computer and other devices?
I do not use Dropbox for backup storage; I use a different service for that. But friends and fellow students sometimes want to share files in Dropbox, so I set up a free account. Somehow, I don't know how, Dropbox uploaded some of my photos to the cloud and filled up my basic Dropbox space. I would like to take my photos out of Dropbox WITHOUT DELETING THEM FROM MY COMPUTER or other devices. This would give me the Dropbox space that I need for sharing. But when I try to do that, Dropbox says that it will delete my photos from all my devices! How can I empty my Dropbox without deleting my photos from my devices?Solved82KViews5likes46Comments

Boy, am I disappointed with Dropbox. I assumed that each folder would display the number of files in that folder, without me jumping through all kinds of hoops. Hi! I am getting familiar with Dropbox because one of my clients uses it. We need to organize files by both folders and tagging. I can't figure out how to tag. All of my searches indicated Dropbox didn't support tagging in 2014 (!), and then maybe some support for desktop app and/or photos. I can't find anything for 2019 or 2020 other than coder stuff. Anyone who is not a coder able to tag files in Dropbox with cloud version? Camera upload from different phones into different folders
Hello, I have created a new folder "Camera upload Karla" where I want my wifes iPhone to automatically upload photos to. This seems not to be so easy, as Dropbox on a phone will only upload to "Camera Upload" folder. Is this correct? How can I make her iPhone upload automatically to the new folder? I've searched the Dropbox site repeatedly. Twice, they list the answer for How to transfer photos from iPhoto to Dropbox. But, I want to do the reverse! I've emailed Dropbox: No response.
