Dropbox Transfer
213 TopicsDon't remove Dropbox Showcase !
Hello, I just heard that Dropbox Showcase was going to disappear. I am both sad and very upset to hear this news. A few years ago I decided to take out a Business subscription for this tool. This unique tool, almost perfect, that makes all the difference! Indeed, I use Showcase on a daily basis to respond to calls for tenders from my clients. Dropbox Showcase allows me to create a response where the customer can find videos references, images, quotes, .etc ... all this in an interactive and professional presentation. This tool is perfect in my opinion! The interface, the ease of use with being able to import your Dropbox files, .etc ... it saves me incredible time! It allowed me to show off my projetcs and win many calls for tenders! I have always had very positive feedback from my clients thanks to Showcase. You say today that you replace this tool with Dropbox Transfer, I am deeply sad because it really has nothing to do with it! I feel abandoned. I found InvisionApp which comes close but which is useless for me because I am a videographer and it is impossible to host videos in it. To my knowledge you were the only ones in this area, and no tool today will be able to replace what you had built! 😞 I don't understand your decision and I share with you my deep disappointment. 😞 Please, don't remove Dropbox Showcase ! 🙏 Bye, Olivier.27KViews62likes67CommentsAdd control over Dropbox Transfer e-mail notifications in the settings.
When sending a file through Dropbox Transfer, you get notified everytime a file will expire within 2 days. When you send all of your work to your clients through Dropbox Transfer, you get quite a lot of these e-mails and they start to clutter up your inbox. It would be practical to have control over all notifications related to Dropbox Transfer in the settings.11KViews42likes36CommentsHow do YOU access Dropbox?
Hi Dropbox community - I'm a design researcher here at Dropbox. I'm curious about how you access Dropbox! How do you access Dropbox: the website, the desktop app (for mac/windows), and/or the mobile app (iOS, android)? For those you use, why do you use them? For those you don't, why not? Is there anything you wish you could do on one that you can't today? Why?9.5KViews6likes11CommentsDownloading from a Dropbox Link sent by email
A business sent me an email with a link to a file in Dropbox. When I clicked on the link in the email, a new tab opened on my browser - Transfer - Dropbox. After a few seconds of handshaking messages in the lower left of the screen, everything stops on a blank white screen. I thought 'Maybe I need to have Dropbox installed on my laptop.' Done that. Go to dropbox.com and access Transfer, then Download. I opened dropbox.com, opened Transfer. No download option, only upload. Been chasing Help and Forum for a while, no joy. Help, pleaseSolved5.3KViews3likes3CommentsRemove Dropbox "Send with Transfer..." menu item from macOS Finder context menu
A somewhat-recent version of Dropbox for macOS has added the new menu item "Send with Transfer..." when right-clicking any file on your Mac, not just files in Dropbox. I know that Dropbox's Finder Extension can be disabled entirely. But this disables syncing badges and all Finder integration. I want to keep the Finder Extension enabled for the Dropbox folder itself... I just want to disable the global menu items when outside of the Dropbox. The similar "Move to Dropbox" menu item can be disabled individually: /Applications/Dropbox.app/Contents/MacOS/Dropbox --move-to-dropbox=False https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Dropbox-installs-integrations/Pleeeeease-does-anyone-know-how-to-permanently-delete-the-Move/td-p/13682 Is there a similar setting to hide the "Send with Transfer..." menu item individually? Until this menu item is removed I will be forced to disable the entire Finder integration.4KViews3likes7CommentsDiscover Dropbox Transfer in video!
Hi beloved Community! Has any of you used Dropbox Transfer, our feature allowing you to share large files to anyone, Dropbox user or not? We put together a video featuring Madison, one of our Product Marketing Manager who built this amazing feature, and some of our users who will explain themselves, in their own words, how Transfer works! Check Dropbox Transfer video here! BTW, we actually recorded this video using Dropbox Capture, another cool product that allows anyone to record videos and screen captures easily. Did you like this video? And would you like to see more lightweight, educational videos on Dropbox features in the future?1.5KViews3likes0CommentsHigher number of characters for Transfer name
Please allow Transfer names have more characters. If I'm correct the current limit right now is only 28 characters and that's really low. I'm working with multiple clients simultaneously and there forI'd like to include my client's company name to Transfer name. But within 28 characters that pretty difficult. And the huge bonus would be an optional text box for Transfer description. That would allow me to write few lines of information about the files included in Transfer.1.2KViews3likes3CommentsRemove "Login/SignUp" Popup window from dropbox transfer link
Hello, I just now noticed that as a paid user, everytime we send a client of ours a dropbox transfer link with our own branding, it upsells our own clients! With some pop up box about some log in into dropbox. I now that it has a "download only" on the bottom but this is not reseonable. We are users that pay dropbox for a service, dont upsell our own clients. I kindly ask the removal of this feature asap.2.3KViews2likes6CommentsAdding extra space to a professional account without upgrading to business
I am currently a professional account holder with 3TB of storage space, I am 500GB away from running out of space. As a creative I work with large file sizes and I was looking to upgrade to get a few more TB of storage. My only option is to upgrade to a Business Account, which would be fine, however you need to have a minimum of 3 licences which makes it very expensive for 2 extra TB which the Standard packages offers, I use the dropbox transfer tool almost every day so ideally I would be on the Advanced plan so I have have the same transfer limit of 100GB transfer limit which I get with Professional. Currently I pay around £15 per month for my package, currently if I want 2TB extra I would need to pay £30 per month and get less services than I do now or £45 per month to get what I really need. which is an increase of £30 per month which is excessive. Why doesn't Dropbox allow to increase storage space without needing to but licences which are not needed. As a long term customer of over 10 years who uses the service every day I am getting to a point where will need to make a decision to leave Dropbox and go to an alternative provider of which there are many to to choose from. For example: - IDrive offer 10TB for $3.98 a month pCloud offer 10TB for $3.95 a month I need to do more research on this but Apple, Google and probably Amazon will offer similar services, the only thing stopping me at the moment is the hassle of transfering all my data across. But I will do it if needed. Please Dropbox you are currently alienating what will be a big proportion of your loyal customer base. Sort it out!Solved7.8KViews2likes21Comments
