Hi There, I'm not sure if this is the right board to post this but I am getting a "couldn't load something went wrong on our end" error when trying to view files on the desktop. I noticed this problem because the files are showing zero bytes on finder. I went to view them on dropbox.com and they are showing zero bytes there too. I have tried different browsers and incognito. I think the problem is on the dropbox side because the files show up as zero bytes even when I try to download them. I have actually never had this problem before. I am hoping dropbox can restore the files. I am on mac os 13.5.2 tried on safari and chrome The missing files are various photo files tif and raf (fuji proprietary raw files) Thank you! Working on a MacBook Pro running Ventura 13.0.1, I was required to update my Dropbox which required the full migration on Mac. This was done in the past few weeks. Ever since then, there have been major problems with file syncing and opening files in the app on Mac: 1) Many times I will double click, and keep clicking on, a file in the Dropbox app in the Finder window. Nothing happens. 2) Sometimes when I click a file in the Dropbox app in the Finder window, it reroutes me to the Dropbox website, rather than to the app in question (Word, Excel, etc.). Then the only way to open is to manually go to the program and open it, though this does not always work either. It's like the Dropbox app is no longer recognized. This is really frustrating and frankly unacceptable behavior considering the price of the app and that I did not do anything to invite it. Has anyone had the same problems and what is occurring to fix this? Thank you!2.4KViews1like9CommentsFake activity?
Yesterday I uploaded a movie file to Dropbox for some friends to download. Immediately after, I decided to check from a browser that wasn't logged in, to see what it would look like for them if they didn't have a Dropbox account. I was shocked to discover, under “Activity”: “Patricia Johnson downloaded this file” and “Anthony Abate viewed this file” (neither name recognised by me): So, then I logged in to investigate, but only saw “Traffic and insights: See who’s visiting... Upgrade to Dropbox Professional to start tracking.”: Surely this isn’t a scare tactic to get me to upgrade to a paid account, is it??Solved33KViews1like12Comments
