"Your dropbox is full" but it isn't
On Mac air with newest OS. I uninstalled the app, checked the hard drive, restarted the computer, barked at the moon, clapped twice and prayed to allah. The problem remains. I refuse to pay to upgrade. I cannot sync additional files.Solved117KViews10likes51Comments

What's the best way to back up the Dropbox folder if I don't have enough space to sync all files?
Hello, I'm using Dropbox Business with Smart Sync. I would like to brckup my entire dropbox to an external hardware (alternative ideas welcome). According to Dropbox support I would have to: move my dropbox folder to the external hard drive change smart sync settings to all local move my dropbox folder back to the computer hard drive adjust all smart sync settings According to support there is no way to just download the entire dropbox to an external hard drive. Additionally "there's a small—but real—chance that the app will start deleting files". So that is obviously not an option. Question: How do I backup my dropbox?Solved73KViews4likes30Comments
Can I delete the cache folder to free up space?
On a Mac regardless of the OS, there is 3 folders, ie. Hidden, Prefetch_Cache, Temp_Hidden, and these folders appear automatically regardless if the user has a Personal or Business account. 1. Can a user delete these folders, again, regardless of the account type, without deleting any files/folders on the Dropbox servers? 2. Do these folders get recreated locally on the Mac? 3. uploading very large files I have tried to upload a 300GB file to dropbox (I have 1TB capacity) using the Mac desktop application and I am being informed that thereisn't enough free space. I bought this extra memory as dropbox write:"Files uploaded to Dropbox via the desktop application or mobile apps have no file size limit". So, I've put ALL my files on online-only because my Mac was running out of space. In my Mac settings, Dropbox takes up 108 GB currently. Once I actually look at what folders are taking up space it's less than 2 GB (you can see in the screenshot what I mean). I use dropbox for work, but only use a select few files and can easily just go onto dropbox online to download the files I need. I had the dropbox app installed on my laptop, but hundreds of other colleages files were downloading onto my laptop and using up all of my hard drive space. I have completely unlinked and deleted the dropbox app from my laptop, but all of the files are still there in my files. When my friend used my invitation link to sign up for Dropbox, the website keeps showing"Please enter a CAPTCHA response" but there was no CAPTCHA test to respond to. This issue did not show up when she tried to sign up directly (no through the invitation link), so I lost the 500 MB space I should have earned.
