How do I transfer photos from dropbox to my computer and delete them from my dropbox.com? Can I move my pictures from my Dropbox app and then move these pictures to one of my desktop hard drives? Simple and easy to follow answer please! This task should be very easy, but it seems quite a hard thing to do from within Dropbox! Removing Dropbox from my computer is proving to be a nightmare. My computer Operating system is Windows 10. I have managed to un sync from my account and deleted all the folders concerned in my Dropbox account. On my computer the Dropbox folder is located C:\Users\dough\Dropbox and it contains a "PC" folder in which contains Desktop, Documents, and Downloads. Whenever I uninstall or delete the Dropbox folder I lose all the content from those foldersDesktop, Documents, and Downloads. I have no need for Dropbox and wish to remove it completely from my computer, would you please explain to me how to do this. I would appreciate it very much. Thank you.Solved11KViews2likes27CommentsI'm having trouble deleting photos from my account
I have googled for how to delete photos in Dropbox, but the answer that comes back is to click on the ellipsis, the 3 dots, in the upper right corner - but there is none there. There is no menu to delete anywhere, and I know to be on the Timeline view, and not the Preview.Solved8.1KViews1like9CommentsTaking back my computer's files from Dropbox.
Unaware of the consequences, in one click I uploaded all my computer files to Dropbox. I want them out of Dropbox without deleting them from my computer. Forum answers linked me to unhelpful instructions to first "turn off computer backup" I tried to follow. When I 1-click Dropbox on my system tray, I get my Windows File Explorer with a dropbox folder. There is no 2-profile picture or initials, 3-Preferences, 4-backups, etc. to complete the instructions. I thought I must have missed something in the app download, so I did it again. I now have two Dropbox icons in File Explorer to see all my PC files held hostage by Dropbox. I can't complete instructions if I can't get past square one. I don't want to store or share everything on Dropbox. I want to remove them with my files still intact on my computer. This is too much needless drama.Solved6KViews0likes12CommentsI don't have enough space to upload or download files from a folder that was shared with me
Someone shared some rough video files with me to edit into a video for them. My company stopped using dropbox years ago in favor of Google Drive, so I have not added anything to DB for probably five years. DB tells me that I cannot download the files that the customer shared with me unless I give them money. (But didn't the customer give them money to upload the files? (Does DB REALLY think it is an honest biz model to charge people to upload and also to charge others to download the same file?) I tried deleting all of the five-year-old files which I do not need anymore and I am still "over my limit." Many files that were shared with me five years ago are still clogging my space and I cannot remove them. DB says I can hide them, but that won't free up space. Does anyone know how I can simply download the files that someone shared with me? or delete the existing old files so that I'll have enough space in my quota? This is incredibly frustrating and reminds me of why I hate dropbox .4KViews0likes3CommentsHow to completely disable Backup function?
I did NOT ask for Backup feature. Backup just came and messed with my Desktop, not asking for any authorization. Every time I open Preferences then Backup, Manage, three folders (Desktop, Documents, Download), are already checked. Why??? Now, since every **bleep** morning when I turn on my PC the DropBox Backup asks me to backup two units, two Ram Disks that must NOT be touched at all, I really have enough. How can Icompletely disable Backup feature? Thanks in advance, Fabio3.5KViews0likes14CommentsI see that An unknown error occurred on a folder that doesn't sync
Hi, I am facing a problem. One of the folders is not syncing. Whenever I try to put a file on this folder, or delete the folder or duplicate the folder, always it shows a message: "An unknown error occurred." Even I cannot open the folder. Can someone please help me in this regard? Thanks, GoutamSolved3.4KViews0likes7CommentsCan I delete the "Dropbox (Old)" folder on my computer without it deleting the files in the account?
Hello! I downloaded the Dropbox app onto my computer (PC, Windows 10) a while ago to log into an account for work (same account used by multiple people in the office). After I left, I uninstalled the app, but I couldn't delete the folder from my File Explorer. Eventually, I made an account of my own and synced it to my computer, so it's now signed in on my account and I at least don't immediately see those folders anymore. (To clarify, when I open my File Explorer now, the Dropbox folder on the left is my personal. Which is fine.) However, I just found that all the files from the work account, which I no longer need or want on my computer, is (I think) still on my hard drive under a folder called "Dropbox (Old)", (as opposed to the current one with my personal account which is just labeled "Dropbox"). If I delete the "Dropbox (Old)" folder from my computer, will that affect other people still using that account and those files from other computers? I'm almost sure it won't, but there are a lot of files, so I'm a little hesitant about "permanently deleting". Thanks!Solved3.3KViews0likes1CommentDeleted Dropbox but didn't restore space on local hard
I downloaded the Dropbox application, synced a folder and realized it actually stores the files locally. I understand now what I didn't before. However, after unlinking my account, deleting the application and the Dropbox folder, I still have not reclaimed the 70GB. Any idea why that is? macOS Mojave ThanksSolved3.2KViews0likes5CommentsUnable to delete files... which cannot be unlocked
I am attempting to delete some rather large files from my wife's computer so she can update to the latest version, Big Sur, for her Macbook Air. She previously downloaded the files from her minister's Bible study forum on Dropbox. She can easily access them from Dropbox.com, so I thought it possible to delete her dropbox folder. Unfortunately, the files did not go away and the Dropbox folder doesn't show up in Finder. I found a lot of the files by searching for the large Zoom files. When I try to delete these files individually, they are locked and will not unlock. The system says she does not have the appropriate permission. I can't change the permissions. How can I delete these files? Note the following screenshot. The Dropbox folder appears to be located in the Documents folder, but it does not show up; it is hidden and I do not know how to unhide it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
