Congratulations Dropbox, You have lost sight of your core value added, and ruined your offering. You have layered so much unwanted additional functionality on top of simple file sharing, the the interface is now confusing and inaccessible. It's very difficult to do the simplest things like copying a link to a file in my dropbox so I can paste it into an email for someone. You want me to use your collaboration tools, and your "improved" methods for sharing files. Not Interested in being coerced into doing things your way. Dropbox is now too hard to use. I am actively searching for a new file sharing platform that understands the real value it is adding. Oh, and adding all this new crap does not justify raising your rates. Goodby Dropbox. I am on the latest iOS and Dropbox for my iPhone 13. Dropbox 324.2 and iOS 16.4.1 I noticed that it was going forth between 5 and 4 photos left. There is plenty of room in dropbox. Nothing has been uploaded. I followed the instructions mentioned here https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Storage-Space/Photo-backup-on-iPhone-isn-t-working/td-p/515471for clearing the cache and rebooting. Still have the same issue and it won't give it up. Problem also exists backing up via cellular. Problem also persists after full delete and reinstallation of Dropbox on iPhone.Solved27KViews10likes42CommentsEasily Create Multiple Folders as the same Time
Create multiple folders together, separating folders with a comma. Currently, you can create subfolder together by typing the folder names, for example: Parent/Child/Grandchild, which will create a folder named 'Parent', a second folder inside of it named 'Child', and a third subfolder inside that named 'Grandchild'. Can this feature be expanded so that if a comma is used instead of a forward slash, it should create an additional (non sub) folder? For example if you select 'create new folder', then type Green, Blue, Yellow, it will create 3 separate folders (not inside of each other)? Will save a lot of time considering the delay of Dropbox when actually executing the 'create new folder' request.2.2KViews7likes5CommentsIs Dropbox Paper dead in the water?
Hi everyone, I really like how Dropbox Paper works and I would love to move all my work from other alternatives to work only in Paper. But I'm a bit worried that Dropbox ignores Paper at this point and don't improve it. The last "news" to Paper was on March 5 which is a very long time ago. And I don't want to work in a tool that the developers doesn't want to improve. Anyone know how the development around Paper will be going forward? Thanks and have a nice day all.8.6KViews7likes11CommentsGetting an error saving an Autocad file, tmp files created?
I use Autocad to work on files I have stored and shared here in Dropbox. My Autocad is set to save every ten minutes. I also manually save very often because I've learned a valuable lesson once when we lost power and my battery backup (UPS) didn't work. Hours of lost work is not fun so I constantly save to avoid losing work. With that being said, I frequently get an error "Unable to save to drawing C:\Users\xxx\Dropbox\thedrawing.dwg. Drawing saved to C:\Users\xxxx\Dropbox\sav###.tmp. This is filling up my Dropbox Folder that I'm working out of with all these *.tmp files. Is anyone else experiencing this problem and what can I do to remedy it? I shouldn't have to monitor my account for these *.tmp files.13KViews6likes29CommentsFeedback on the Document Scanning Experience in the Dropbox App
Hi, folks! My name is Ryan, and I’m a Product Manager at Dropbox, working on the Dropbox mobile apps (iOS/Android). My team is interested in hearing your feedback around the current Document Scanning feature (“Scan a document”) in the Dropbox app. We’d love to know things like: What do you use the Document Scanning feature for? What problems/issues do you have when using the Document Scanning feature? What do you wish it did better? Are there ways it could make your life easier? Are there things that you reallylike about it? We’re open and excited for all feedback — good, bad, and indifferent! This will help us find opportunities to make (and keep) the Document Scanning experience seamless for all users. Thanks in advance, Ryan & the Dropbox Mobile app team2.8KViews5likes0CommentsOption to create or edit plain Text or Markdown documents
I would have thought that the ability to create/edit plain text (*.txt) documents is extremely basic, and something that would be very useful for note taking, documenting the content of a folder and many more things. However this seems to be not supperted either in the Android or the Web app. Something that has become a standard on many cloud-based sites is to also support Markdown documents (*.md) which are like text documents but can be viewed in a formatted nice way. This is also not supported but would be extremely useful to have in the Android and Web apps.1KViews5likes3CommentsMy backed up desktop folders disappeared from my computer and are only on the Dropbox cloud
Hi everyone - have had Dropbox for a while, and have had specific files from my Macbook back up to Dropbox (my documents file and my desktop). When I used the laptop last night everything was located on my Macbook and in Dropbox where it should be. This afternoon, came home from work and I have nothing on my desktop anymore (all files, folders, etc) and my entire My Documents folder are gone from the Macbook but are in Dropbox. Anytime I create a new file on the desktop it disappears into the dropbox cloud. There are sync issues identified, and I can't fix them because Dropbox can't find the files in their original location...not sure what to do or how to fix. I want all the files in both places, not just in the cloud on Dropbox. Any help appreciated. Thanks!5.2KViews5likes22Comments
