When renaming shared folders, also change the name of the folder for other users
Issue with DropBox and it's permissions/roles associated with users and folder renaming and file visibility.
Background Example:
When have a Team Folder at the top level with multiple subfolders under it. We have users with permission to edit starting at the Team Level.
Scenario:
We create a folder at a sublevel that is a placeholder folder for a specific job or task with basic information placed within, as yet unassigned to a specific Job or Task. Once that subfolder is assigned for work, we rename the folder to encompass the specific job or task. This final name should be updated globally for all users going forward to work on or within this folder.
We are wanting to use DropBox like a Network administrator would set permissions for their folder structure/file management system. If a user has permission to change a folder, then that change should be reflected to all users who have access to that "network" folder. Permissions should propogate all changes, without having to unshare and reshare the folder anytime a rename occurs. This should happen automatically.
The Point of DropBox would be for an Organization to be able to have a shared system that is actually of use. The point is the abililty to have individual users, who have full access to the folders, be able to update folders with changes and statuses, including name changes and have those changes pushed to all users who then attempt to access that folder.
We are not looking for a local back copy that is based off a period of time. This needs to be a fluid operation, like Active Directory and other Server/Network based permissions. If permissions are granted, then those changes should always be updated automatically, so users always see the latest and greatest contents of folder names and files therein.
This is used for Auditing Purposes and tracking user's work. If we are unable to automatically see the changes, due to the limitations of DropBox, then what is the point of a shared system that does not automatically sync "ALL CHANGES"?
I see others have had similar issues and the option of unsharing, renaming, and the resharing is a total waste of time and counter-intuitive to how the Cloud Based file sharing system should work.
