Store offline files on SD card on Android devices
I have an ASUS ZenPad 8 running Android 6.0 and right now I'm running Dropbox on the internal memory. This works great but I'm using up ~4.5Gb of internal storage. I'd like to run Dropbox on my 128Gb microSD in the tablet but don't know how to do this.
I can (and did) do this on my Window's desktop but that was relatively easy, basically just changing the location call for Dropbox from my C: Drive to the D: Drive.
How do I do this in an Android system?

This is horrible, how hard can it be ? I have spotify that stores data on my SD card. Leaving dropbox, there are other services.

I reported this issue, AGAIN, to Dropbox Customer Service and also have attempted to send an email on this issue to the President of Dropbox, Inc. I encourage ALL of YOU to contact Customer Service. Maybe if they hear enough voices they'll start to listen.

Hmm. Seems like it is time I move myself away from dropbox and look for a cloud provider that will allow for me to sync offline files to my SD card. It should NOT have to be an export to SD. I already am annoyed with the fact that I can't have my computer use my NAS folders for storage. There are just too many limitations with dropbox anymore.

Years go by and Dropbox users still can't sync files to SD card in Android. Looks hopeless... Unfortunately, at this point migrating to another platform now would be cumbersome. I would however not recommend Dropbox to heavy Android users.

Upvoted. Im gonna try drop sync now and if this doesn't work well, im going to another cloud provider...

Boggles my mind that after all these years & even on the most recent Android builds, Dropbox still can't keep files on the SD card. Profoundly limits the usefulness of your product on mobile.

There are a number haven't yielded any results over the years.
So instead of is wasting our time here we should perhaps all raise tickets with Dropbox.
Dropbox used to work with storage cards for Data and it worked well.

I realise I'm not the only dropbox subscriber to request offline files to be stored on an sd card. I have a new Android tablet and, in 2022, one shouldn't have to rely on an internet connection.
Look forward to the dropbox team resolving this one!

Still no progress on this? Come on Dropbox, how hard can it be?
