Store offline files on SD card on Android devices
I have an ASUS ZenPad 8 running Android 6.0 and right now I'm running Dropbox on the internal memory. This works great but I'm using up ~4.5Gb of internal storage. I'd like to run Dropbox on my 128Gb microSD in the tablet but don't know how to do this.
I can (and did) do this on my Window's desktop but that was relatively easy, basically just changing the location call for Dropbox from my C: Drive to the D: Drive.
How do I do this in an Android system?

I'm simply disappointed that Dropbox doesn't allow running from SD card in an Android tablet, such a logical feature is fundamental in these devices. Isn't this a loud scream from millions of users? Is it possible this feature will exist anywhere in the near future or are we going to have to take our business to another platform?

Hey there Cuasimingo - sorry to hear you feel this way and thank you for sharing your feedback about this. Whether negative or positive, our users' input always help us improve our services and features; therefore, I'll make sure your comments are passed along to our mobile app's dev team for future consideration.
I won't be able to comment on when or if this might get implemented though.
In the meantime, as you noticed, it's not currently possible to install the Dropbox app on your SD card. The app must be stored on your device's internal storage.
Again thank you for your feedback, and my apologies for any inconvenience.
PS: I moved your post under this thread as it echoes the OP's feature request - make sure to upvote it by clicking on the like button!

I also want dropbox to improve their software for Andriod so I can store my files on my cell phones SD card- right now it seems you can only move 1 file at a time I set my folders up with subfolders by subject which makes it impossible to move everything

This idea is going to need a bit more support.

Come on Dropbox users - there must be more than a slim few of us who want to be able to run Dropbox storage on the microSD cards that make up the "external" drives on our phones and tablets. The coding between Dropbox on a desktop or laptop (where you can change storage from the C: to the D:) can't be that difficult to adapt to an Android app.
Please add your votes to this project

Definitely, I can't think of any Dropbox users who would not be more than happy to have the possibility to store files in SD cards of Android devices Please listen to this request

This was a primary issue with me. I was forced to pay for DropSync app to be able to perform what I believe should be a simple function well within the DropBox app's capabilities.

This is really frustrating. I have a Box account as well as a paid for Dropbox one. I acquired the 50Gb lifetime on Box years ago as part of a promotion and keep specific parts of my older research material in Box. I have more data relating to other projects in dropbox . On my new Android tablet (Samsung S5e) it was a simple instruction to move Box to run on the microSD card. it works, meaning that I can keep quite a chunk of material on my 128GB card without overloading the 64MB on the tablet.
How can I achieve the same result for Dropbox. Truly frustrating.

I have been.asking for this.for a.number of YEARS! Dropbox is the largest app on my phone, consuming a good deal of ROM space. No other app that I have on my phone has this deficiency. I have neber been givem a reason as to why it is unsolvable by Dropbox techies.
