I would like to permanently delete closed file requests. An identical issue was opened and marked as solved 2 years ago, but the underlying issue was never actually addressed.

Super User IIIt's not erroneously marked as solved. Solved does not necessarily mean resolved to a person's satisfaction. On these forums it simply means that the post has received the proper response for the issue raised. In this case, the response provided by Zed is still correct.
File Requests still cannot be removed once closed. They will remain under Closed Requests indefinitely.
