Hi,
My company uses Dropbox (free and company versions) to share files with external people of the company. We would like to know if it's possible to hide the name and the email address of the members of the folder to the other members. And if it's not possible yet, I think it would be a good idea to improve Dropbox, don't you think?

Yeap, you need to add this feature asap. Shared Link doesnt work if you need to share files permanently (and update them as well frequently)with different parties (clients and none) and let them have access on them on their mobile device (app). This the issue in our company. We are using dropbox to share sales material with both internal sales force and clients' sales force who are on the go and should just be able to view the material on their app. Even if we shared a link with the corresponding files and they saved the files on their app they would need to resave it on their app with each change (in order to have the latest material). As you understand this not efficient at all as well as creating shared folders for each one of them and copy paste every change in each folder from our side. It doesnt make any sense at all. We are in 2020. Simple as that. Just add the "hide members" selection feature - it can't be that hard for a company like dropbox.

I think I won't renew my paid plan due to the lack of this feature. It is a very serious thing

WE URGENTLY NEED THIS TOO! It's indispensable for architecture and construction firms when sharing documents for biding processes. Other member shouldn't know who else is quoting a specific product or service.

Dropbox is of no use to me without this function.

We also would love to see this feature in Dropbox!

6 years past since the first inquiry ?
Dropbox still not add this function yet ?
i'm questioning if they really care about this issue or they will lose some serious customers.
we share the file with our B2B customers ,but it's soo awful when you see your cusotmers competitors are in the same file, and you can see their name and email address!

Indeed! What can we do to get more attention to this post, apart from keep asking it for 6 years?
Maybe this feature will not serve all Dropbox users, but surely it will help professional, paying users that need this functionality in their everyday job and now have to rely on other tools or exaggerate workarounds to obtain the same result.

I have a folder where I place all of my components that need to be quoted for fabrication needs. Some of the members of the folders are competitors...
It would be nice if there was a way to make it so that members could not see who all else was a member of the folder or make it where they could not contact them from the folder.

I went ahead and tried to hide one member in a shared group, but was suprised that this is not an option. I understand that most businesses want to show all members, but it should still be an option to hide them if needed.
I share files in folders where I outsource work and I don`t want my clients to see who my designer is, then I`m afraid they will just go diretcly to him next time and not through me.

If a teacher wants to share items for a one-time online class, they end up having to reveal the email addresses of everyone in the class, even if some are minors. I can't believe this doesn't violate European and probably many other country's laws.
