File Requests: View the email of the user who submitted a file
Regarding the new "File Request" functionality, the person submitted a file is asked for a valid email. How do I, the owner of the file request, view that email address? I can only see the person submitting's name, but not their email.

Suppose you told recipients to submit file names that are prefixed with their initials?

I think you're missing the point, Rick. There are plenty of workarounds that would take up time and cause different headaches but we're asking for a very simple feature here that would solve lots of peoples' issues.

I would expect a feature request to be in

I can't see the emails of the people I sent file requests to or if I have even sent a file request if I add an email later after creating a link.... It's killing me.
Also...Bulk Upload for a series of folders?

Dropbox does not save the messages that you send along with invitations, links or file requests.

When sending a file request, the person receiving is required to add their first and last name and an email address. Their first and last name, along with the file name, appears in the email that I receive. This let's me know who uploaded a file, and the file's name.
But where does their email address appear, so that I (the receiver of the file) can see it, and respond to them, and send back their file?
- LusilDropbox StaffHey Matt_M, currently you can only see the username of the person that submitted the file request and not the email address. However, I’d be more than happy to pass your comments along to the dev team for future consideration. As such, I’ve also moved your post to the Share an idea section of the Community, so as to keep track of your feedback. If you have any other thoughts or questions for us, please don’t hesitate to get back to me. Thanks!

Its been 5 years… and nothing was dobe about that issur from DB…
Get on it DB… and give us the email of the submitter
- athena-metisNew member | Level 2
If the problem is disclosing the email address what about the facility within dropbox to send a message to the file submitter. You could then add a link to the bottom to email sent via DB for allowing them to not receive any future emails from the DB account owner relating to that submission.

Hello,
Please have the devs implement a way to see the file uploader's email and not just their first and last name when it comes to file requests. I am not sure why this hasen't been implemented yet. I have seen multiple request for this. The information is already required from the person uploading the file, why not also provide this information to the receiver. Its crazy that I would need to get a business account, to use the activty page via the admin console, just to be able to see the uploader's email for a file request. If you want to make it a premium feature that's fine, at least add it to the plus or professional plans.
To summarize, in addtion to showing the uploader's first and last name also show their email address when they upload a file via a file request.

When you click on the file that was submitted via the file request you will see in the top right hand corner an exclamation icon which is the "about" section. This would be the perfect place to implement the addtional information, which would include the uploader's email.

Hi Everyone. I also have asked this question on the online Dropbox chat. It is clear from the responses that it is data mining. It is not a developer issue as been allured to on this forum. I would imagine Dropbox takes the email addresses and sells them or uses them for their own promotion. It is up to Dropbox to prove otherwise as people have been asking with no response.
