How to send notifications to others on file when something is uploaded
I have a few clients and a contractor shared on a file folder in Dropbox. Is there a way to send notifications to them once I upload a file to Dropbox? I have been told there is a way to do this, but I cannot find how. I do not want them to have to individually turn on this setting if possible.

No, that's not possible. First, each person controls their own notification preferences from within their account settings. Second, the only notification available to them for the activity within a shared folder is a weekly digest of all the current changes.
There are also desktop notifications in the Dropbox app for all changes in a person's account, but those are again controlled by each person.
