Lost 6.25GB (of 15GB) from my quota when compared to yesterday's total
I have been a BASIC Dropbox user for years (Maybe 10?). I had accumulated 15GB via new users I had recommended as well as other bonus storage - all in addition to the initial 2GB and more. Yesterday I cleaned up (deleted) several GB to reduce usage 1.1GB in order to upload about 12GB.
Today I logged into Dropbox to finish my project and noticed I now have ONLY 8.75GB of the 15GB of yesterday. ... What am I missing here - other than the storage space? ;-)
Help, please. ... thanks a million (rather, thanks 6.25 Gigs)

Hi Paisanoglen, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Could you confirm how many completed referrals you have on your account from this page?
This will help me to assist further!

Jay, I have not kept (stored) the referrals I gave from all the years back. I can confirm that yesterday I saw and was dealing with 15GB total Dropbox storage available to me in my account.
I might be able recall at least 1 business which may have been a referral. Bottom line: (again) I have no receipts. (Insert sad emoji)
Seriously, though?!?! Was I supposed to have kept those referrals/ increases in storage emails sent from Dropbox “just in case my storage was lost and Dropbox doesn’t have records”???? (Mild sarcasm here)
Jay, I CAN tell you that my original email address (that I assume I used originally to sign up for and send referrals to Dropbox) was

NOTE: the domain name was hosted and had a full website of about 6-8 pages on GoDaddy since ~2003. I do not currently have my website active. The domain name is visible as a placeholder on GoDaddy.

Hey Paisanoglen - sorry to jump in here, but could you clarify what's shown in your plan page in regards to your quota?
Also, have you ensured that you're looking at the correct Dropbox account?
Did you see anything logged in the page Jay linked in his response by the way?

Walter, what with Thanksgiving activities, I'm just now getting back to you. Thanks for the LINK (plan page) in your reply. Here's what I see:

Although the “Joined May 03, 2020” is inaccurate. I've been a Dropbox member almost a decade earlier than 2020. In fact, since 2012.
Now I’ve noticed and looked at the link Jay put in his reply.
Walter and Jay. The link from JAY shows I joined in 2012. And yes, I see a list of referrals are there. All the referrals' names are familiar to me. AND yet this does not clear up the fact that the SIZE (the number of gb) of storage that I had seen in my account the day prior (15 gb) suddenly dropped to less than 9.
I DID SEE and HAVE HAD 15 gb listed. I can tell you that when I returned to Dropbox earlier this week, I had wanted to upload some files. Thus, unknowingly, I tried to upload files that were close to 15 gb. The process stopped. It did seem like it wasn’t working. After a bit of troubleshooting I realized the 15 gb on Dropbox, much of which was already used, wasn’t enough to allow my upload.
I downloaded or deleted much of the data stored on Dropbox, leaving about 1.1 gb used. I stopped, needing to figure out how to deal with last bit of 1.1 gb. My account still showed it had 16 gb total available. I didn't complete the upload that day. It was taking too long. A day later I opened Dropbox to deal with the upload. THAT’s when I noticed is showed 8.756 gb as my total storage space available on Dropbox.
There you have it. The gist of my current Dropbox mystery. Part of the mystery is now solved. We now know when I opened to account, to whom I sent invites, who accepted, and that there were rewards of bonus storage space. It does not clarify WHY I would be showing 15 gb one day and then 8.75 gb the next.
Thank you for your help and feedback.

Hey Paisanoglen, I hope it's okay for me to jump in here as well.
Referral space is permanent, so there's no way for an account to lose it.
Can you let us know how many referrals you see there in the page that Jay linked in his reply?
Also, is it possible that you had some other kind of promotion that gave you some extra space, which expired? Because promotions do expire after a while.
