free up space
Hi all. It's annoying see so much space wasted by the app. I don't have any hidden files in cache. Any suggestion on how free the space? Thank you very much

Hey davide_massi, I'd suggest you follow the steps in this article, to see the size of files and calculate the size of folders in your Dropbox, to see which ones are taking up your space.

I never did any backup within dropbox.
Is there a way to remove those "standard files"?

Those "standard files" would be the files you see when you sign in to the Dropbox website, along with any backups that are saved.

Did you actually check the page that I linked though? Many people have activated the backup feature without realizing it. It's very easy to do, especially during installation of the Dropbox app.
If you've deleted files and any backups you may have had but it's still showing an incorrect storage amount, wait a few hours and check again. It's no longer an instant update.

quite sure never made a backup as you may can see in the attached screenshot. And no, last time I canceled big stuff was months ago.
