"Corel" Files taking up my Dropbox space

On my PC in the Documents Folder there are folders that are "Corel", "Corel Cloud", "Corel User Files", "Custom Office Templates" that are taking up space in my Dropbox which I do not want.  How do I get dropbox to stop taking up space with these folders?

  • I'm afraid that if these files are within the Documents folder and you've chosen to back up this folder to Dropbox, they will be backed up as well.

There's no way to specify which folders to have backed up within a backed up folder at this time.

Hey viclea, thanks for joining our Community!

I believe that this is a third party app, which sounds like it's saving files to your Documents folder.

But for them to be taking up your Dropbox space, that means that you have enabled our backup feature on your computer, is that right?

If this wasn't intentional, you can disable the feature, by following the steps here.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hannah, I believe you are right.  I don't want to backup these files.  If I use the Dropbox App, not backup, can I tell Dropbox not to copy these files?

Hi from me as well, viclea

If you disable computer backup via your Dropbox app preferences, then Dropbox won’t be backing up your Documents folder, nor any files within it. As a result, these folders should no longer take up space from your Dropbox account.
