Finder colour codes now seem to disappear when a file is online only
So it would seem that when I now make a file online only, the finder colour code associated with it disappears. Is this deliberate, because for me it's an absolute disaster?

It wouldn't be Dropbox hiding it. Most likely it's because the file no longer exists on the computer so your OS can't read the color/tag. The only thing left behind when you mark a file as Online-only is a placeholder file. The actual file is removed.

Hmm. It never used to disappear. This has been my system for some time.

Hey Snowdog63, does making the files available offline bring back the color codes?
Can you send us a screenshot of the two behaviors, so we can compare and check it out?

Indeed it does.
In the first screenshot the files are online only & the purple dots are absent. (Notice that there is a purple dot next to the"PRODUCTION" folder, from which, I assume, we can gather that files are affected but folders aren't.)
In the second screenshot, the files are local & the purple dots are back.NOTE: Off topic but notice also that in the second screenshot, the end of folder on the extreme left has a cloud icon, despite the fact that inside are files that are both local & online. There used to be a third icon for mixed contents, but I haven't seen this in some time, so I literally have to check in folders to see if everything is offline or not. Has the third icon been abandoned?
