Dropbox syncing after computer restart from Time Machine backup: Will I end up with duplicate files?

I had to restart my computer from a Time Machine backup and am trying to re-sync my Dropbox files. This is especially important because the backup was recorded 4 days before the computer issue and I had done quite a bit of work after that point that Dropbox saved. When reconnecting Dropbox back up I selected "Online Only", but now I'm worried because before the computer scrub I had the files "Available Offline". I'm not sure how many files I actually have on Dropbox (I see that it's indexing 27,770 files) but I'm worried this number includes dupliucates. Suggestions?

Also, the indexing is going PAINFULLY slow. At this point it has been more than 20 hours and it's like watching paint dry.

Hey Sarah00 - thanks for posting on our Community and happy Monday!

Could you please clarify your computer's OS version and the current status and version of the Dropbox desktop app as shown in your menu bar at the moment?

    Thanks!

      Hi Walter,

After the update that caused my computer to crash and start this whole mess, I am running Sequoia 15.0.1 and I had installed the most recent version of Dropbox 209.4.3661

My computer restarted overnight because of an “issue” so I’m trying to get it all opened again.

At this point it looks like all the 22,000 files have synched and I don’t SEE any duplicates. I’m relieved. Thanks for following up.
