Changing the video Thumbnail Photo/ poster frame

I've shared several videos and never know where the thumbnail will fall.  I don't agree that it's around the 8th frame because I've checked it with several of my videos and it is inconsistent.  We need this feature to properly use videos on DB, really.

I don't know either, its what keeps me from using dropbox for video.

I agree, for M4V Video files if the poster frame is set, it would be really nice if dropbox utilized this in the web, and IOS apps.

This indeed will also make me rethink using Dropbox for sharing video's.

You want it to show the title page as thumbnail, not somewhere on the go.

Wndows Explorer does show the begin and that seems inituitive to me.

A pity because the Dropbox functionality is so practical and well done further....

Please add thumbnail options!!! For those of us using Showcase in a professional environment, it is crucial.

While I don't like the inability to change a video thumbnail in DropBox, I have to remember that DropBox is a file transfer platform and is not necessarily designed as a video viewing platform. My suggestion for sharing videos with clients is using frame.io. Your clients can make comments at specific points in the video and they can download the original video (in it's original format) from within frame.io. A much better tool if you want a one stop shop for clients reviewing/commenting on/downloading videos.

If showcase is supposed to be a professional, client facing presentation, then we have to have the ability to make our presentation look good by choosing our own poster frames. I don't even care if it's a work around and I have to upload a separate still image to set the frame instead of scrubbing through and selecting it. 

I'm trying to deliver a video right now and Showcase is choosing a cometely white frame, putting it on a white background with a white play button. I can't send that to my client.

Any answer to this question??

Update: I haven't heard from dropbox about this issue since my previous post 2 weeks ago and I'm now using vimeo to share video edits with clients since my clients were unhappy with the random video thumbnail that dropbox chooses. If there was a rating system I would rate dropbox's customer support as "very poor" and I'm going to research other companies to start using for file storage. 

mak007 I don't think anything is going to happen here anytime soon, so perhaps YouTube or Adobe Creative Cloud? I hate the idea of paying more for storage when I have over 990GB here. And I just checked Creative Cloud and the thumbnail situation there is the same - u can't change it! In fact, the only place I've seen where you can easily change the thumbnail to any frame is YouTube. But perhaps you have to set the poster frame first before you upload to these services? That would be a pain...
