Sequential ordering of photos within an Album
Is it possible to rearrange the ordering or listing of the photos in an Album such that they will be viewed in the Dropbox Photo Viewer in a specific sequence?
(This may be important for the development of an idea, the life-cycle of a pet, progressive schooling of a child, or the time-sequenced construction of a house, etc.)
Seems that when I create the Album and add photos to it, the order in which they appear in the Photo Viewer is random.
Can this display sequence be altered by means of title, date captured,, date added to Album, etc.?
With thanks, Richard R.

Am I understanding correctly that there is no way to organize the photos in an album? If that is correct, that is something that needs to be changed.

OK, I'm a simpleton and still don't understand how I can arrange photos (files) within a folder. For a presentation (historical preservation application) I need to rearrange the files I've got in a folder to a specific order, and then number each photo. I am not using albums or Carousel.
I've been loading pictures into the folder, but have not found a way to re-arrange them once they are there, in other words.
Is there a way?

I am having the same issue. It appears you should be able to sequentially sort the photos in the album.

Rearranging photos in an Album? How can you do it? Seems like they are in order of time date not my sequenced number system. How can you work around this?

The files have been renamed to the order I want them to appear 1 through…. They show up in order in Dropbox folder and then when I create a Album they do not. I think they go in the order of time… when they were shot. Because I used two cameras at different times. So I just want the album to follow the number sequence.

I am not confusing them… I know the difference. So is there a way to make the Album follow the numbering system that I created and not be a "timeline" thing? I want the Album to follow exactly what the folder has in it. I created the files to be a certain way by numbering them… then I look at the Album and they are not following the numbers. Any way to change the Album presets?

Peggy - Dropbox are shutting down Carousel and Albums as I've already said.
And no. You cannot add comments.

I don't believe Dropbox is shutting down albums. They existed before Carousel and I think they will exist after. It's very unfortunate you can't sort in albums. In my opinion, Dropbox would be the best place to store and share photos because I could keep them as separate files at my resolution of choice and in my control, but there current photo strategy, feature set and solutions appear to be have been designed by committee. A botched opportunity. But maybe recoverable if they talk to real users.

After creating an album from a file, all the photos appeared but are not in date order. Is there a way to manually move individual photos around in an album?

It's completely crazy to me as a photographer that photo's are not loaded into an album in sequential order. I can store images here but to share an album with clients in a muddled up order is very unprofessional. This definitely needs to change!
