Hi everybody,
Our team has made some changes, so please let us know if you're still having issues.
To clarify: there is no data corruption (i.e., we are not treating the sheets as a range within a single file). This behavior seems to be our Google editor deprecation banner "hiding the sheets tab," and we'll be adjusting this soon.
Thank you for your feedback!

Hey maireadsullgolf, thanks for reaching out to us.
Are you accessing your Excel files through the Dropbox website, the mobile app or the local Dropbox folder on your computer?
If it's from the web, try to access them through a different browser or a private browsing window and let me know how it goes.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Hannah
Thanks for getting in touch. The problem is happening when we try to open the files through google sheets through dropbox. We can only see one tab. when we download the file locally we can see all the tabs and have full functionality. If we try to open in Excel for the web through dropbox we can see all the tabs but we can't edit the file in any way.
It seems like some setting has changed in dropbox overnight

Thanks for the update here, maireadsullgolf.
Can you let me know more about why you can't edit the files through Excel for the web? Are you getting some kind of error?

I have a user describing the same issue. Please advise.

Sorry to see that you're having this issue as well, DELPI and blsamie.
Do you see the same when logging in through a different browser or a private browsing/incognito window as well?

Our company only allows one browser which is Chrome and does not allow private browsing mode so I have no way to test this.

tried on Safari, it's worst (which makes sense as we are trying to open spreadsheets through Google Sheet > Chrome is necessarily the browser that we need to use)
can it be linked to that message, we now see "Starting March 1, 2024, Google editors won’t be available in Dropbox. Ask the file owner to convert it to another format." ?

Hi everyone, I'd to know a few more details about this matter. What version of Chrome are you currently running?
Is this the preview of the Excel file on the Dropbox site, or the file after you open it using Excel on the web?
Do you have any extensions in your browser that could prevent certain scripts from running, or any custom DPI, zoom or multiple monitors set up?

This was never a problem until I went to log on today, nothing has changed on my computer overnight. The issue is obviously coming from your end, my coworker in another office is having the same issue this morning. This needs sorted asap. Its obviously an internal issue your end. I need to work of a live version of spreadsheets not a downloaded one.

I am having the same issue - using dropbox via chrome to try open Google Sheet. Only change is the "Starting 1 March 2024, Google editors won’t be available in Dropbox. Ask the file owner to convert it to another format" message!

Jay, can we have update please on where you are at with the issue? We really need it addressed urgently or at the very least an update

Echoing Craoibhin's comments above.
In response to your questions:
Is this the preview of the Excel file on the Dropbox site, or the file after you open it using Excel on the web?
-I'm opening the file using Excel on the web
Do you have any extensions in your browser that could prevent certain scripts from running, or any custom DPI, zoom or multiple monitors set up?
-No, I haven't changed or added any new extensions and I'm running 120.0.6099.63 (Official Build) (64-bit)
