Hi there. Whenever I use Pages on my iPad for word processing and the file it’s using is sourced from Dropbox I’m getting multiple conflicted copies generated. It feels like 1 every 5 minutes or whenever the program auto-saves so 30 minutes of writing will generate multiple conflicted copies in my Dropbox folder. Anyone have any solutions or workarounds to this? Thanks355Views0likes3CommentsPlease confirm that deleting the Dropbox account will not remove photos from iPad or Phone.
Hi there, I am working with a client who wishes to delete his dropbox account. It is currently storing copies of files from his laptop, and photographs from his iPad and mobile. I have copied the files from the DropBox folder of his laptop to a folder on his C drive. Please can someone definitively confirm that DropBox mobile simply creates a back-up of photos and does not remove them from the device. Please confirm that deleting and closing his DropBox account will have no impact on the photos stored on his phone. He has never deleted any photographs from his mobile that he wishes to keep so that is not an issue. Every web search I have done confirms the above, but none of the information is direct from DropBox and the chat bot pre-programmed responses are not applicable. I'm still fairly new to operating within the Dropbox app on my iPad. I found when I would open a text file from DB while connected to Wi-Fi it opens just fine but when I go to copy the text I find that when I paste it into another doc I'm pasting a link to the document in dropbox rather than the actual text itself, what am I doing wrong? This is my primary question but as a follow on I'd welcome a link to a page that explains that if I'm connected to the Internet am I able to edit modify a document dynamically without having to download it to local storage.503Views0likes8CommentsCan no longer save current or new MS word or excel file on dropbox with android devices.
I can no longer save current or new Ms word or excel files on dropbox, when I try and do so I get "Can't edit - This file is read-only. To edit it, first save a copy of the file". I get this even on brand new files never saved before, when I select Save a copy it comes up with the same meesage again. It works fine with my laptop just my phone and tablet are having the issue. Hi Dropbox community - I'm a design researcher here at Dropbox. I'm curious about how you access Dropbox! How do you access Dropbox: the website, the desktop app (for mac/windows), and/or the mobile app (iOS, android)? For those you use, why do you use them? For those you don't, why not? Is there anything you wish you could do on one that you can't today? Why?9.5KViews6likes11CommentsFiles in my file app are suddenly Password Protected & I can't edit them, using my iPad.
Hello. I am accessing my dropbox files in the Files App on my iPad, iPadOS 17.4.1. They were working fine until this morning, and now my files, when I try to edit them with my Apple Pen, are asking for a password. I did not set the password. There were no Apple updates or Dropbox updates last night. Files from iCloud and other apps do not have this problem, just DropBox. I can access and edit the dropbox files from my Mac (with no password), but not my iPad. I have been on the phone with support from my bank b/c they were bank statements, but the bank never puts passwords on downloaded statements. I also contacted Apple and we did a number of different things. Finally, she realized that the only files with the problem were Dropbox. I'm not sure if something happened last night, but suddenly things are different. I am grateful for and appreciate any information people can give me.522Views0likes1CommentWhat options are available on the iPad to edit photos?
I can access my dropbox on the ipad app, select an image, (I assume cloud image), select "Edit". There are only two options, "crop and rotate". Then when I do a "save changes" 1. There is no option to do an "undo" and 2. Does it save an edited copy and keep the original? Because, when I download the image to the IPad there are a lot more edit options, including the "Undo" option. Is this the way it is meant to work?Solved656Views0likes3CommentsText Editor no longer usable free in Files App
Suddenly have this major problem: I cannot work on text files in my iPad FILES app. Can't open, move, copy, whatever. I get the messages shown in the attached screenshots. I sure don't want to pay £50 a year to be able to work with downloaded text files. I had always (many years?) assumed this was a built-in facility, but looks like it's a commercial 'extension' of some sort called Text Editor + ?Solved653Views0likes3CommentsAll my Clip Studio Paint files reverted to versions from weeks ago
Hello, Just today I opened up Clip Studio Paint to find that all of the drawings I was currently working on to be reverted back to their versions from weeks ago. I lost all of my progress. I tried to rewind them but it doesn't even show activity past the 29th of November for some of these files now, even though I was working on them and saving them yesterday. I have no idea how to get them back.1.2KViews0likes1Comment
