Storage space
1780 TopicsI keep receiving emails about being over-quota, but there aren't any files on my account.
I receive emails from Dropbox telling me my Basic account has reached its limit; however, when I log into my account there are no files there. I have searched in all folders, there is nothing there. I have also tried to locate these files using my laptop account and there is nothing there. I cannot respond to their emails because it's from an unmonitored mailbox. I cannot call Dropbox because I have the free edition, and their free customers aren't treated with the same care as their paying customers. How can I resolve this if I cannot speak to a live person about it? I'm tempted to reach out to our state's attorney general to file a complaint. This is just bad, bad business.11Views0likes1CommentI referred a friend, but I still haven't received the extra space.
I sent a link from my basic account to a friend. They used the link and on my account it said waiting for install even though they had downloaded dropbox.. Now when I put their email in the referral box it says they are already a user and is not giving me the extra storage. How can I address this?Solved24Views0likes1CommentI haven't uploaded any files, but Dropbox says my account is full.

So, I've put ALL my files on online-only because my Mac was running out of space. In my Mac settings, Dropbox takes up 108 GB currently. Once I actually look at what folders are taking up space it's less than 2 GB (you can see in the screenshot what I mean). What is taking up all this space?Solved13KViews3likes51CommentsI got an email saying I don't have enough space, but that's not true. Is this legit?
i have recieved a strange email from this address no-reply@em-s.dropbox.com it says: "There's limited space available in your Dropbox. Even adding just one more file might stop your account from syncing and being able to access them when you need to." that is not true, i have much more space, i thought it is a spam and i came here to check what you say about it and i saw that you say it is one of your addresses and i don't get it. can you please help me understanding this? thanks297Views0likes7CommentsI can't access my photos, as I'm being asked to upgrade my Dropbox account.
I REALLY need help, please. A very long time ago my wife and I wanted to put our photos, many of them precious, in a safe place. She suggested putting them om a USB but I said we should put them on something called "Dropbox" It was free and safe. What a fool I was. Over time it said my account was "getting " full so I deleted as many things as I could and things were fine. Then without using my account much at all I went to it and it says it's full and I have to pay a large sum of money, which I don't have, in order to get into my account. It seems like kidnapping. If I were to pay the money I don't even know if I could get my photos back without deleting them all. The only thing I can think of is, paying the ransom, downloading the photos to my hard drive, moving them to a USB (my PC is old and I can't fit in a USB and a wireless USB in at the same time) and terminating my account. Even then I'm afraid I will lose everything because it says that by terminating your account all of your data will be deleted. I really don"t know what to do. Wow, do I feel like u sucker.553Views0likes12CommentsMy Dropbox folder is taking up a lot of space on my computer
Hello: Shortly after I got a new computer, I keep getting messages that my hard drive is full. so when I check the storage it is my Dropbox folder using all the space: and when I go to the website, I have 2T space available: So, my 2 questions are: I obviously do NOT need 2T space, so can I change my subscription to give me less space? How can I remove the Dropbox folder off my hard drive and only use the website? I changed the setting to "available online only" but I do not really know exactly what that means. I did not seem to change the space - maybe I have to restart the computer? Thanks, smblock222Views0likes1CommentGetting a "you're out of space" email notification
I keep getting emails and notifications claiming that I've reached my 2gb storage limit. Upon checking the contents of my dropbox account, the files total up to just over 3mb. So, Dropbox, what the hell kind of scam are you running here?804Views0likes5CommentsStorage space allegedly full but only 158.7 MB/2.75 GB used

My drobpox is empty and the storage counter on the app confirms this:158.7 MB/2.75 GB used However, I keep receiving the message that my storage is full. My dropbox is empty.
