Space and storage
324 TopicsAllow a personal account to have more than 3 TB
Hello, I'm a graphic designer with over 15 years of workload. This obviously equates to extreme files sizes. I was disappointed to learn Dropbox don't offer a package for single users over 3TB. I work solely and require more cloud space and don't want to have to upgrade to a 'per user' plan as this isn't cost effective. This option has to become available soon.56KViews153likes190Commentsduplicate photos without impacting storage
i have lots of photos and videos that belong to multiple hierarchies. for example if i'm on a trip and i record video of some concerts i'm at, i save those videos to a 'travel' folder organized by place and date and also to a music folder organized by the band i'm recording. this is really handy as i can share the entire history of footage i have of that band with someone easily by sharing the the band folder and i don't have to wade through the other videos/pictures from the trip. ideally, i could do this without impacting storage. after all, it is the same photo or video, and under the hood dropbox could just have two different pointers to the same video and i could share one pointer without sharing the other, thus not doubling the storage space. i think this would be useful for a lot of users!192Views0likes1CommentIndividual user having trouble uploading documents to a Corporate Dropbox account
Hi, I have a free individual Dropbox membership. I'm a member of a local Rotary Club that has a Corporate Dropbox account. I'm able to access documents in the Rotary drop box (e.g. view documents, download document). However, I have not been able to upload documents into the Rotary Dropbox. I keep getting the error message that I need to upgrade my account to increase my storage. I've uploaded documents to other Corporate Dropbox accounts before without having to have a paid membership. any ideas why I'm having trouble with the Rotary Dropbox? Thanks,Solved2.1KViews0likes4CommentsCan I download entire folders from the Dropbox app to my mobile device?
I'm New to using cloud based storage. I'm using Dropbox and onedrive right now and and have been organizing all my documents and pics intl file folders or albums, whichever you prefer to call them. So today dropbox has informed me I'm out of storage. So what I'm trying to figure out is how do I download a folder back to my hard drive? I can do it file by file but that defeats the purpose of all the work I've put into organizing everything. Am I missing something or was what I did a waste of time? It doesn't even ask me what folder I want to drop it into when I download a file. I'm using a Samsung galaxy s21 5gSolved2.5KViews0likes6CommentsOffer a 'Cold Storage' option at a lower rate with restricted access to match
Cold Storage - I would love to see an add on to the pro accounts to allow us to move active footage off the active content and into cold storage billed as a lower rate and accessed accordingly - if this could be connected with our current drop box account it means simple move or even simply selecting a button to turn a file cold while leaving it in the same files structure - not unlike what you have going on the desktop application with cloud, tentatively online and permanently online - you could also have a frozen state - maybe it takes several days to access the footage once frozen but it would use space in my current service at a lower level. OR connect with a 3rd party program to offer this - from google searches it looks like you were offering this but now are not..243Views0likes2CommentsiPhone storage and dropbox
Hi! Hoping you can help. I have the Dropbox app on my phone and I am in the process of moving my videos from my camera roll to Dropbox. I am doing this purely to try and free up space on my phone. However my question is - does this actually free up space on my phone or does it just basically store them in a different place as my videos have disappeared from my camera roll and are now in dropbox so I’m thinking maybe I’m not actually freeing up any space? Please if someone could help answer my question that would be v helpful!3KViews0likes6CommentsBilling per GB chunk
I wish there was a way to pay per GB of storage. Going from the free plan to the 16$/month is a bit of a steep upgrade and i don’t necessarily need all the 2TB. If I’m using 10GB let’s say, why not be billed a certain rate monthly for the storage per chunk of GB, same features as the free plan. So 2-5GB would be x$/month, 5-10 y$/month until a certain threshold where it would be more cost effective to upgrade to the first tier plan at 16$/month with more features224Views0likes1Comment
