For some time now, the "version history" item has disappeared from the context menu of PC applications. I only have 4 other items, for example: share, copy link to dropbox. Was this some application change or is it a bug on my part and how do I fix it?Solved648Views0likes1CommentMy Dropbox files aren't showing up on the mobile app of my new phone
I just got a new phone and I have the dropbox app on my phone. My files aren't showing up on the app on my phone. I'm logged in with the same user name and password that I use for my desktop. Why aren't my files syncing?Solved589Views0likes3CommentsI'm unable to restore my backup
Hi! I'm trying to restore my backup from my previous pc to a new one. However when I try to restore the backup, Dropbox show this message "Couldn't complete setup" ( I'm going to upload a screenshot ), and if I click on, "Try again" nothing happens. What should I do to restore my backup?713Views0likes5CommentsDropbox removed files from my vault
I set up my Vault folder about a couple of months ago. I used it to back up about 100 - 200 GB of data from my old computer. Today I log into Vault and it had me set up a PIN again (?) and when I accessed the Vault the 100 - 200 GB of backup data I had uploaded is gone. The data was definitely there the last time I checked; and I explicitly remember uploading it because it took a couple of hours. What happened to all of my data? There was no notification that it was deleted. And why did I have to set up a PIN again?2.7KViews0likes8CommentsWe can't restore to this computer since it's already backing up
I just installed and setup Dropbox Backup. The Mac Dropbox Backup app seems to be out of sync with my Dropbox Backup. My initial backup of several folders completed long ago (1:52 pm), but even now (4:24 pm), the "Restore" button is grayed out and when I mouse over it, it says "We can't restore to this computer since it's already backing up." The website shows that the last backup completed at 3:46 pm. The status is "Done." When I click on "View backed up files," I can that all the files have been backed up. I don't understand why the "Restore" button is grayed out. I seem to have a working backup, but I am not sure if I could restore it. Plus the last backup times are out of sync.Solved1.5KViews0likes5Comments10's of thousands of files DELETED without my interaction
I got a message from a client about an hour ago that several of our shared folders had been deleted. According to their Dropbox account, I was the one who deleted them. I did not. Looking through Deleted Files on the web interface I found many, many more files that had been deleted around the same time today. These are folders I share with several different clients. I don't know what the hell is going on. I have over 20,000 files currently being restored back to my local Dropbox drive. I'm using the Dropbox app on a Windows 10 workstation (AMD 3900X, 64gb) with an internal SATA drive solely for Dropbox. The machine has been on with no problems all day. The only thing that has changed recently is that I've shared the local Dropbox folder via Windows SMB so that I can access the files on a new Mac Studio over my local network. (This is my workaround to deal with this issue: "Changing the location of your Dropbox folder is no longer supported by Dropbox for macOS with Apple's File Provider API.Your Dropbox folder will be moved to ~/Library/CloudStorage." My Dropbox storage is 4tb, and I would never put it on my primary Mac drive even if it was big enough.) I have not attempted to install Dropbox on the Mac yet at all, just trying to work around it with the share. Is there an issue with setting up your local Dropbox folder as a Windows share? I really, really don't want this to happen again.706Views0likes3Comments
