24 TopicsPDF files open as read only on Acrobat Reader (on Android)
I haven't had any problem editing PDF files on my Android tablet until now. I simply opened dropbox, and opened the PDF in Adobe Acrobat from dropbox. Lately, when I open a PDF in Adobe Acrobat from dropbox, I get an error message telling me I can only open the file read-only. This applies to all my files. When I open a PDF directly from Adobe Acrobat, I don't have this problem. I suspect this is related to a recent update of either app.Solved28KViews5likes40CommentsDropbox on Android suddenly unable to open protected Word document
Hello. I've had the same password protected Word doc in my dropbox for years now. On the same Android device I've been using for years as well, I am suddenly unable to open that file. When I try, I get a "File type not supported" error. There is no "open with" option. There used to be one. I have tried reinstalling, wiping cache and data, etc - Dropbox app as well as Office and Word apps. I have tried unlinking and linking Office and Word to Dropbox. On my device as well as on the web. I have tried saving the file to device. There is nothing wrong with the file. I can open it just fine from Dropbox PC. I can also open it on my phone from the Word app. When I try to open a non-protected Word doc, I get a preview. And only then does an "open with" option appear. Solutions desired: Setting Dropbox Android to open Word docs in the Word app by default rather than trying to give me a preview. Also, reinstatement of the "open with" option outside of doc preview. (This has completely disappeared for all my Dropbox files, not just this one.)Solved15KViews2likes30Commentsquestion .rtf files now have become .rtfd files and won't open
here is the problem which has just begun recently. I have an iMac and iPad and iPod and now.rtf files now have suddenly changed into .rtfd files and won't open. I think it is only .rtf files which have images embedded. Can't find any help although i discovered if i go through one at a time and RENAME them back to .rtf , it becomesTWO files. Is doing this the only way to get back the textEdit files which used to open without trouble?13KViews1like19CommentsCannot open Google Sheet document on the Dropbox website

Hello, I've been using Dropbox Business integrated with Google Workspaces for over a year. While the integration between Google and Dropbox can be glitchy, my team appreciates the ability to store Google Docs & Sheets in Dropbox with the rest of our files and work on them simultaneously. Last week, we lost access to several files, receiving the error message below when trying to open select Google Docs & Sheets. I cannot restore these files to a previous version or download them -- they seem to be gone entirely/inaccessible. I called Dropbox help, and they were unable to resolve the issue, citing it as a problem with the third-party app (Google). It's clearly an issue with the integration between the two parties, so I'm frustrated that Dropbox can't help any further. I've tried clearing cookies & cache, signing out of Dropbox & Google accounts, and restarting my computer, but this did not help. Any ideas about how to retrieve these files, what the issue could be, or how to best access someone at Google who will understand how these files integrate with Dropbox to be able to troubleshoot successfully? I'd appreciate any help, thanks!Solved7.2KViews1like28CommentsCan't open msg files from iPhone
