Work with multiple folders at the same time on the web (in one page). For example you can do some tabs. I would like to easely move files between folders. I don't want to go through the entire folder structure every time I move files before I get to the one I want. For example something as new tabbed file explorer in Windows 11.619Views0likes2CommentsMake TAGS editable or deletable from master list, please
Through weeks of tagging thousands of my portrait photos, I've changed my tags to better flow and group by category, but the old tag names are still popping up as options. I would like those gone as options. It would be great to see a master list of tags, and from therebe able to manage (edit, delete) tags from a master list, not just from individual files. Thanks for considering!12KViews48likes24CommentsPrevent members from Moving any folders within team folders.
I've seen a topic like the one I'm writing now suggesting to prevent team members from moving any selected folders. I came here just to emphasis how this feature (Member roles Or Folder restrictions) is VERY important in business and I can tell in short words what happed to the business yesterday when one of the member mistakenly moved one of the HOT working projects to another destination. The project literally paralyzed for around 3 hours after noticing the MOVING action and trying to fix it and not to mention what happened to the team when suddenly they couldn't save their work(Media footage editing) the moment the files disappeared and also the whole team was setting waiting for the synchronization process to finish (first the mistaken moving and next moving back the moved folder to its original path). Wish we can have a specific restriction on selected folders and giving the permission to move to selected member by the admin. Here is a recap for my suggestion suggestion: FOLDER SETTINGS ---------- VIEWING , EDITING, MOVING ON ON OFF USERS PERMESSIONS DELETING, MOVING OFF OFF858Views2likes2CommentsToo many docs, folders not cutting it - need top level Spaces/Notesbooks/Projects (something)
I have lots and lots of notes spanning many many topics. Folders are somewhat helpful for organization, but it would be really nice to have some higher level of separation similar to 'Spaces' in Confluence, or 'Notebooks' in Evernote. Each 'space' could have its own folder hierarchy, but would isolate its contents from all other spaces in the UI. This feature would also open up the possibility of expanding Paper's Templates to collections of documents and folders.5KViews5likes8CommentsTagging files externally while not on the Dropbox site
Dropbox contains a tagging feature, but it only works inside of dropbox. Search a file -> add a tag. I want to be able to tag files outside of Dropbox, and have Dropbox read my tags from the file! I personally only need to know what the Dropbox code would be looking at, and I'll program the tagging part of the file myself, for myself. But if Dropbox decides to implement the full thing, that'd be awesome as well. For example: when I select a folder for upload on my phone, it'd be nice to tag all files in that folder with something specific, so it doesn't become one big pile of rubbish when I auto sort it into another folder using dropbox automations. A solid example: My phone contains a camera album, and a whatsapp album. I upload both automatically so they end up in 'camera uploads'. Once they've been uploaded, they get automatically split into folders by year. But now I've got a folder '2024' with all my family pics, mixed with the crazy **** my friends sent me. I'd like to automatically split those files into a sub-folder of 2024.427Views0likes2CommentsAdd option to auto-delete original file after it's been converted via automation
I have automation set up on a folder to convert all .heic to .jpg. However after the conversion, there's no way to automatically delete the original .heic and just keep the new .jpg. Thus I'm wasting a lot of space on duplicate images, and have to manually go in and delete the heic's. Could Dropbox add an option to the automation workflow to delete a file after it's been converted?1.3KViews6likes4CommentsDefault setting option for sender name to be included in naming convention for file requests
Greetings! I noticed that there is an option to not include sender's name to the file for each file request, but since I create hundreds of file requests, it takes a long time to turn it off for each request. Me and my colleagues would really appreciate it if we had an ability to set this option as a preference for all new created file requests. Thanks in advance.1.3KViews2likes3Comments
