I am unable to shift+delete any folder inside my dropbox folder so I can skip the recycling bin. This seems to be connected to this new popup about asking if I'm sure I want to delete for everyone. Which is very strange, because this is NOT in a folder I've shared with anyone else. Any ideas on how to fix this? Or how I can report this to Dropbox directly?77Views0likes13CommentsEmails from the Community all day long.
Has anyone been getting Dripbox email notifications for earned badges? I have been receiving them all day long today, even though I haven't done anything here in a very long time that would cause me to earn badges. I have them turned off under settings, but I STILL get them. Does this have something to do with the "recent changes" Dropbox is making?94Views4likes2Comments"Can't import photos from this device" pop up: add "don't show this again" checkbox
this request is due to a nuisance: i use dropbox to backup the pix from my phone. this popup appears every time i connect the phone to the computer, while the phone is locked. sometimes this pop up appress again a few minutes later for no apparent reason or trigger. connecting my phone might mean i just want it charged, i don't always require an immediate file transfer. the pop up is intrusive and stays on top of everything else. this pop up has no easy closing button (just the system's red dot), and the only options suggested are to "Get mobile app" (which i have, so who's dumb now?!) and "Why dropbox can't import" which leads to your website. but I KNOW ALL THAT, AND I SIMPLY DON'T NEED MY PHOTOS IMPORTED RIGHT NOW. i really do not need this annoying pop up screen. customer support has led me here. please consider letting me dismiss this pop up forever. love and peace, yaneev529Views1like2CommentsHow can I permanently disable the "delete for everyone" prompt?
How can I permanently disable this "delete for everyone" prompt? I have to delete old files daily for work, and this message is a major hindrance. It doesn't happen if I take the time to sync the file to my hard drive, but that is a ridiculous workaround when I'm trying to completely delete a file. This needs a "don't remind me again" option. Am I missing some way to turn this off?Email notification to upgrade
Hi, Is everyone on a free subscription hassled to upgrade to a much bigger (and obviously, paid) account even when they're barely using it? I have just 3.1GB of 100GB storage in use and yet I've just received an email warning me thus"Your Dropbox is almost full and is close to reaching maximum storage capacity. Once full, your files will stop syncing across devices, which will make it harder to access your files when you need them." In addition, I can't find any way to assess how much storage I am actually using other than to select everything and then download it in a zip file. The zip file was 3.1 GB so it may well be that the actual storage being used is more, but almost 100GB? No way. Curious about the experience of others. NOTE: a thread already exists for this issue but was closed without a solution. I'm writing this here to reopen it. The Dropbox folder in my dock (Mac OS Sequoia) bounces every time a file is updated by dropbox Sync. When syncing hundreds of files, it will bounce constantly. When opening a cloud document (online-only document that is opened via the desktop file explorer and temporarily loaded onto the computer), it also bounces. This means that if I even use quick-look to preview a batch of images, my dropbox folder icon will bounce incessantly as it loads higher-resolution preview thumbnails. People have tried disabling this in terminal and it hasn't worked. I haven't personally tried the terminal method due to these reports, but I would prefer to manage this in the notifications preferences of Dropbox instead. Even with everything turned off on my notification preferences, it still bounces.1.8KViews0likes9CommentsSync Status Notification
Hi I am wondering if someone can help me turn off a notification that comes onto my screen (sometimes on the bottom of the screen, sometimes right in the middle). It is continuous throughout the day - sometimes every few seconds. I have a Sync Status Notification that says: Sync status. These files are online only. To open them, first move them into your dropbox folder. It seems to be more frequent when I also have OneDrive open - my work uses OneDrive and no option but to use it. Does anyone know how to permanently disable this notification? I can turn it off for short periods by snoozing notifications. But I'd like to get rid of it completely. ThanksSolved832Views0likes10CommentsTo access a document someone sent, I was sent 10 notifications, why?
I'm sure I'm the only one, but in case I'm not - is anyone else mortified that in order to view a document someone sent me that I had to get spammed from dropbox until I login and update my notifiation preferences? Does *anyone* on the planet like to be notified forever just because they had to access a document? Anyone? Really though. Rude.176Views0likes3Comments
