6 TopicsMobile app crashing on Android, when previewing certain Word docs
Hi. I have a Samsung S22 Ultra (One UI 5.1). Within the past few months, Dropbox (352.2.2) keeps crashing when I open certain word docs. These are files that have been in use for years without issue previously (always on Basic). I've tried making it available offline vs online only, and it doesn't matter. Error reads: "Something went wrong with Dropbox, etc." After enough tries, it tells me to clear the cache, which I do, still crashes. Tried uninstalling, then reinstalling, same issue. Eventually, the phone tells me that it's crashing too much and Dropbox is causing a battery problem, so maybe put it in a deep sleep, which I don't do. I can open a small word doc (22 kb) in the same folder, but not a slightly larger one (56 kb). I can open all of them if exported to Microsoft Word. I can also open them on my Macbook, so the files are not corrupted.1.7KViews0likes9CommentsOnly my personal Team folder shows in Office apps.
I have Dropbox Desktop. I have two accounts: Personal, and Business. The Business account allocates me an individual folder and a team folder. In times past, before I was given an individual folder for work (why? I don't know. Didn't ask for it), my dropbox was easily accessible with Office applications. NOW, when I click "File / Open" I only see my PERSONAL folder, or my INDIVIDUAL folder. I can get to the team folder, but only by clicking on team folder and then navigating to the team folder where all my work actually is. It is an annoyance - and I'd like to know if it is fixable.1.1KViews0likes9CommentsDropbox Badge Immovable on Multi-Screen Mac
I'm running the latest Dropbox, Office 365 and macOS software on a MacBook running its own Retina display and an external monitor. The Dropbox Badge only shows itself on files stored in Dropbox rather than on OneDrive - as you'd expect - but it's currently sitting in Excel at the top left of the Retina display blocking the two window control buttons. The help file suggests you can click and drag it to move it but sadly that is simply not the case. It stubbornly remains in that position.561Views0likes3CommentsDropbox Android app not updating Word files
I posted this before, but can't find it. Dropbox android app not showing changes to my files. When I open the file with the word app, the changes appear, but if, I dont, I'm reading old versions. Sometimes, only, when I edit the file in word, and then go to Dropbox and open the file, I get a note saying this file has changed, refresh, but even when I do, the changes don't appear in the file in dropbox. Coincidentally or not, now when I open a Dropbox file in word, the title appears in word with numbers and percentage signs mixed in, specifically %2025. Thanks for your help.Solved3.6KViews0likes35CommentsProblems with the sync symbol
I've had a problem with DropBox for a while now. Until recently, however, I didn't need it myself, so the problem didn't bother me. I use my partner's DropBox on my PC. On his devices, a sync icon is displayed on the folder. For me, it ran until Saturday via OneDrive - there was that simply in a separate column. With DropBox and with my Microsoft account the sync icon somehow never wants to show up. They are displayed to me as ordinary folders. This disturbs the workflow enormously, not knowing whether something was saved locally or online. The problem is on all the devices I have had in the meantime. Whether it's on my laptop or the tower I have new since Saturday. But what never changed was my Microsoft account. So: how do I get this to work? Somehow I must have changed something on my Microsoft account, since it works for him with his Microsoft account.Solved4.4KViews0likes10CommentsCan't open Microsoft Online files from Dropbox online
Everytime I try to open a doc from Dropbox Online into Microsoft Word Online it just opens to a blank page. I'm on a Dropbox Team. I have a Microsoft Office Online account through my university (different email to my Dropbox account). I've tried Chrome and Firefox. Most importantly, it works fine using another computer (PC) but not my Macbook Pro. thanksSolved3.9KViews0likes12Comments
