Please allow for us to turn off the Dropbox context menu on MacOS Sonoma. At the very least place all actions under one sub-menu so the one application does not take up a full 1/3 of my pop-up context menu.353Views0likes3CommentsSupport distinct Backup location per user account
[I use Dropbox on a Mac; this (problem) might not apply to other operating systems.] I would like to Backup, for example, my Documents folder on multiple user accounts using distinct targets on Dropbox. The current implementation does not seem to allow this. I think the problem stems from having tied the target backup folder name to the computer name. It seems to me that allowing the target to be specified by the user while setting up Backup on each local OS account (user) would make this feature MUCH more useful. Maybe an "Advanced..." button on the Backup set-up dialog would be a good place to allow the user to specify this.1.2KViews0likes3CommentsDropbox App Mac windows "can't be more narrow"
Hi, I use the app "Magnet" to organize the windows on my M1 Mac. Unfortunately the windows of the Dropbox App "can't be more narrow". It's not possible to open the Dropbox App on the right or left side of the screen and other apps on the other side without a huge overlap of the Dropbox App into the side of the screen. I would really appreciate the option to not show the huge banner on the right side of the Dropbox App which tells me that I could "add notes, lists, to-dos..." to a folder. Is this possible? Thank you very much! Regards Tilman908Views0likes3CommentsDropbox for MacOS in App Store
Dropbox client for MacOS should be available at the App Store, not as a separate download. All major software packages use App Store. This is more convenient for installation and updates. It is safer for general users to install software from App Store that to make random searches on the web trying to find the client, and it is more likely that users ignore scam emails suggesting updates or upgrades that may potentially install malware instead.7.3KViews0likes1CommentMac OS X 64 bit version?
At what point will we see a 64 bit version for OS X? It is one of the last of my always running apps that is 32 bits? While many will say it is not necessary to have a 64 bit version that 32 is just fine, there are background processes that run to support 32 bit apps running on a 64 bit machine. Since just about everything else has been converted by their developers, isn't it about time for Dropbox to make the change? Thanks!28KViews19likes49CommentsPackage based installer for macOS
Please offer a package based installer (.pkg file) for macOS. Your current application based installer is designed for end-user installs and is not necessarily suited for education or enterprise deployments. There is currently no way to deploy your software as delivered via mobile device management (MDM). Not offering a .pkg installer is a disservice to your the network administrators supporting your customers. Thanks!3KViews8likes5Comments
