Dropbox Transfer
91 TopicsWhy is Dropbox Transfer suddenly slower when showing the link?
Guys, just made a Dropbox Transfer today, and saw that cool new box animation. and the updated UI. All good so far. After I did a couple of Transfers I noticed it's MUCH slower than before. On synced files it usually took 2-3 seconds to show me the link. Now it seems like it has to play the whole box animation before showing the link and it's taking like 10-15 seconds. Any thoughts?10Views0likes1CommentBetter Sharing & Better Branding
Dropbox is wonderful -- I've paid for professional for ten years -- but it could be immensely better.. You will make more money if you do these two related things:) (1) The branding feature is way too basic. The options seem like they're from 1995. It would be wonderful if we had more options and more customization. Specifically, if we could create different branding for different customers, it would be amazing. (I use Dropbox to share pictures and videos with my customers. I want to put THEIR branding on these files and galleries, NOT MINE.) (2) The experience of RECEIVING shared files is HORRIBLE, for the people who RECEIVE the links or transfers. Even using the current branding options, Dropbox still puts its OWN branding on the page – this is confusing for the receiver. It's messy and ugly, and it takes up too much screen space. They think they have to create a Dropbox account to receive the files. You are trying to get sales, through me, a paying customer -- that is **bleep**ty. Please take all your branding and sales prompts off these pages, for us paying customers. Also, browsing through pictures on shared links is a slow and not-intuitive process. It would be amazing if you could make it function like[removed per the Dropbox Community Guidelines]. These companies create beautiul galleries, and customers can easily create lists of their favorite pictures. You could actually steal all their business if you did this. I am 100% certain your customers would love these features:)22Views0likes1CommentHow can I track the messages on shared folders and transfers?
Hello Dropbox Community I often share folders with my clients with notes Just realized today that my main client cannot read the sent notes I'm also looking where I can find the sent notes. When I search the shared and transfer tabs I find very random file sharing. For example since August 31 I shared at least 10 files but only 3 old folders show, same with the tranfers I sent at least 10 files to be reviewd with comments but only 3 show and I cannot find my comment anywhere285Views0likes4CommentsMy Dropbox Transfer doesn't have my files on them as they're 0 bytes each
I am transferring 387 video file clips (total only 600 MB). After I created transfer, and it completed uploading from my Mac. It kept saying total 0 bytes and no thumbnails shown for any of the files. My client were not able to download anything from it. I tried several times.363Views0likes14CommentsWhat is the difference between sharing a link or Dropbox Transfer?
What are the exact differences between choosing a folder and sharing the link of that folder to a person who doesnt have Dropbox, or using Dropbox Transfer to send that folder to the same person? Do not suggest me that that person should download Dropbox. He is not allowed to use it in his workplace since they use a different system. I have Dropbox Professional with University of Florida, I am employed there.Solved659Views0likes6CommentsDropbox File Transfer Limit Clarification
Hi Dropbox Community, I'm seeking clarification on Dropbox's file transfer limit. For example, the business plan has a 100 GB file transfer limit. Is this limit: 1. A per-file size limit (e.g., I can upload/download multiple files under 100 GB each, with no overall limit)? Or 2. A cumulative limit per time period (e.g., 100 GB total per day, with restrictions on uploading/downloading additional files until the period resets)? For example, can I upload multiple 50 GB files consecutively, or is there a daily cap of 100 GB total?220Views0likes1CommentRemove "Login/SignUp" Popup window from dropbox transfer link
Hello, I just now noticed that as a paid user, everytime we send a client of ours a dropbox transfer link with our own branding, it upsells our own clients! With some pop up box about some log in into dropbox. I now that it has a "download only" on the bottom but this is not reseonable. We are users that pay dropbox for a service, dont upsell our own clients. I kindly ask the removal of this feature asap.2.3KViews2likes6CommentsHow can I send or share a folder privately to another user?
I want to send my landlord a copy of my ID, a bank account statement, and some paystubs. This is sensitive information, so I would rather not email it, but after exploring the various options that dropbox offers, I think this is my only option. - "Dropbox Transfer" doesn't work because my landlord doesn't have dropbox. - "Dropbox DocSend" doesn't work for a number of reasons. - I want to send a folder with 3 files. - I don't want to pay a ton of extra money for this to work. I already pay for Dropbox Plus. My Question is: What kind of Dropbox plan/subscription would I need to make this work? I have Dropbox Plus, do I need to upgrade that? Is a "Dropbox DocSend" subscription something different? Overall I am disappointed at the moment in two things. 1) This seems like a really basic, simple thing to do, and moreover, it is something that will help prevent crime and identity theft. Why doesn't Dropbox support it? (or at least why do they reserve this feature only for larger business accounts) 2) The pricing structure / feature structure is obscured and is confusing. I think the end solution will be that I just email my landlord these documents. Hopefully they stay safe.313Views0likes2CommentsCan I use an email forwarded for 'Email to Dropbox' feature for attachments?
I've enabled the email to dropbox feature and can receive emails to long email address supplied. I've tried setting up a shorter email on my custom domain to auto forward to the long address but it never seems to receive the attachments. Is there a limitation to this? I would rather share a shorter more memorable email address. Example, but not real details: My custom email [email removed as per Community Guidelines] to auto forward to"random.long.name.generated@addtodropbox.com"Solved2.9KViews0likes9Comments
